    Core i7-3770K Cracks 6.616 GHz

Shame its a ES would have been more interesting if it was retail.

    yep.
ES with a TDP of 77W.

looks like now the ES's are better performers then the retails will be with 95W TDP. :/
*here is the link to his CPU-z validation:

It is ES because the screen shows it but not because of 77W...every retail will show "77W" in CPUz because of the database in the back...

anyway uninteresting ES-score...we (almost) have that laying here with retail...stop this E(nergy)S(hit)!

    What's wrong with ES?

My local Micro Center already stock up (3770K and 3570) to the ceiling, only thing they just can't sell it. Probly its already for sale in part of the world you're located

ES is not Retail - have my exp with that and don't want to get into this game anymore.
But very good news: there are just a few ES better than retail and time will solve this pretty sure.

Also: while "we" have access to ES...there is still a quite big community who will/can make a competition only with retail...why "we" should not show them final silicon?
because you don't get retail for free? because you don't wanna buy retail?
I am not in the mood to continue this kind of questions - just keep in mind retail is what is on the market and available for 99% of the overclockers.

we can still play "ES-games" behind closed doors, but time has shown it doesn't work...

€: oh and if Ivy is not available on launch in your country - as long as you are within EU...leave me a message

Based on the past going back to the Q6600 launch prices of MC, probably $50-70 below retail.

you guys do know that this heat and leakage stuff won't get much better with haswell or ivy-e or any future generations right?

It is the consequence of silicon and 3d transistors, the size is so small that you have to take many factors into account, higher heat is not an issues with the manufacturing rather the design and silicon.

BTW id expect the ES and retails to clock the same, they are the same stepping now. ES might run a bit hotter b/c Intel doesn't really care about their TDPs and that is about it.

I disagree... Haswell is a complete different type of product.... Haswell is the direct result of AMD not being into the market... The processor wont be for bursting speed by miles, but rather bringing new features and options to the market... If Intel cuts a bit of slack with Ultra-Book, we might actually see 24 hour capable laptops with haswell, and with graphics level better than discrete..

I think the haswell will cut power consumption alot a very lot, since AMD still has no product that can compete with the many years old Gulftown.

I am sorry dude, but it is part of physics that heat and leakage will increase b/c of the constraints of doped silicone. Someone posted this on OCN, here it is pretty simple to understand.
