Before peeps put a verdict on this poor kits think about the cpu. Not all has imc that can do 2800+ air stable

    I tried a few chips with TridentX 2800 and some can't even boot straight with xmp @ 2800 11-13-13-35 2T @ 1.65V..

+1...not all IMCs are created equal. I consider myself lucky b/c it will take my 2666 kit to 2800 with NO change other than memory divider, but at the same time my IMC won't make it to 3000. I can only speak to my particular kit, but it is very strong. Not as strong as my 2400 / 9-11-9-24 PSC kit from long ago which I'll never let go, but it's among the strongest you can get with the current generation of ICs.

Heh, this kit won't even POST at the PSC kit's rated speed/timings. Tight latencies it does not like. The current generation is all about MHz.

Samsung is HCH9,H9C must be Hynix.
Why do you think it's single sided ???

HCH and H9C are just denoting mounting info and speedbin, those digits are a very bad way to differentiate between different ICs.
I think they are single sided because all the 2400 kits with AB40 I've heard about so far were all single sided, and it's very convenient for G.Skill if they can use the same PCB and chips for the 4GB and 8GB sticks.

Well, I'll just put my money on Samsung K4B4G0846B ICs.

My retail 3570K went blue screen when boot up @ 2666
It's imc retarded and tops @ 2600, so this ram won't run XMP settings with this chip

I need to try again later. I had to take a day off from this. poor kit. I feel sorry for yelling at it. That was in the heat of passion. I'll try again.
so far though 10-12-12 1t 2666 was a no go even at 1.83vdimm

Keep tRCD at 13. It really doesn't like that tightened. 10-13-12-28-1T worked for me at 2666 & 1.725vDIMM, SP32M "stable".

Totally giving away the review (hoping to publish next week, please read it even though you already know the results )...but what the heck.

Hokie Dokie. you are right. All I needed was 24hrs to take a break and call Dumo. I take back all I said about the kit.
1st we tested to see if my imc could handle 2800. then we tightened down @ 2600.
4.8ghz for both. now its just a matter of tuning. I'm pretty happy with 2600 and a latency boundary of 2. 1.85v
can you kit/imc handle 2800 match me in the 1st pic?

Yep, but it seems like my kit is a little stronger than yours if yours took 1.85v to get there. From rated speed/timings, I changed nothing except the RAM multiplier. Stock timings 11-13-13-35, 1T command rate & 1.65vDIMM.

That is TridentX 1.85V mem. preset setting in M5G bios. My TridentX 2800 can do it with 1.79V @2666.

Your cpu and ram are good TA

so what next? fyi there is no waza or tweaking going on here fyi. based on this screen what should I try next? my goal was 6.3 spi 32m now what? if you look at my memtweak screen. what is the next thing I can adjust without bsod? or should I go back to 2800 and start over? Its 12:35 and I have 1 beer left. I managed to make Fester a video and install arma II Day Z mod tonight and hit my goal of 6.3 32m with this kit. I think its time to call it a night.

Review published today, hope you like it.

You've seen this strong RAM from G.Skill in use before, in our reviews of Intel's i7 3770K and ASUS' Maximus V GENE. Now we'll look at the sticks themselves and find out just what they're capable of.

My kit sucks, seems GSkills binning EXTREMELY tight. On a positive note, they will work well to shim the leg of my wobbly desk.

Your 2666 kit sucks? How far can it get? Not that many people have them readily available, but are you able to check your CPU and make sure it's not an IMC limitation?

Nice review hokie, must've missed it when you posted it back in May!

Too bad you ran out of juice so close to 1500MHz, but I'm sure you'll try again soon!

I got them today, spent a couple hours with them. They do run XMP profile jut fine, but they dont clock very well. I have a 4x4gb kit of 2133 RipjawsZ that clock much better, and cost much less, actually my 49.00 samsung kit even clocks with tighter timings. Its not the CPU, its good up to 2858mhz.

Im not looking for absolute maximum OC, but more for tight timings. They are having trouble with 2600 10-12-12, which should be easy for a decent kit. My TeamXtreem kit does 2666 9-12-12, and the ripjawsz do 2666 10-12-11.

Tommy, I laughed out loud about your wobbly table shim comment. I feel the same way about my kit. I know its not your mem controller. there is just no room in these kits. call me if you are around.

Hokie needs to hang on to his kit. Seems to be one of the best.

^ Maybe they sent him a nice binned kit to review.

Id just like to say once more before I go to bed, that my kit sucks. Couple more hours of trying, and no improvement.

That was the implied meaning in my post.

You need to leave tRCD alone. These kits really don't like it tightened. You'll have more room if you leave it at 13.

I can't speak to whether they send anything binned. They certainly don't tell me if they do, and I'd hope they wouldn't so we get a true feel of retail product. I generally assume that's what happens unless there is some reason to believe otherwise - and I haven't found such a reason with, well, with anyone that sends hardware for review. I've had good stuff from people and definitely bad stuff too (i.e. my 3960X ES from Intel hits a brick wall at only 5.1GHz).

Anyway, the kit isn't here to keep any longer. IMOG was in need of some good RAM for Ivy benching. Since he has a 180L dewar at his house and freezes his hardware more than I have time to, the kit would do him much more good than it would do me; so I sent them to him to use.
