Donkey thats music to my ears. yeah Thats me benching in the oc song vid and Im playing drums and singing. Its kinda a xs cult classic. I think I remember you and brian flood and those dudes from the mushkin redline beta days. I got the biostar z77 board but it hits cold bug without a major mod that I cant do so I returned it to egg for the same board you are on. good luck with the kit and the review. Im sure it will be awesome as always. for benching music I always keep it on some classic rock channel like you are working on the car in the garage. or any AC/DC album. the oc song is a must. "just got it insulated last night...I hope I did it all right.." you know what I mean. for me its always been bad contact with the rods. one rod is stripped or the bottom foam around the base is too thick and you dont make contact with the cpu. Hondacity says hes using liquid electrical tape so Im gonna try that next time instead of conformal. anyway im excited to see this kit do some damage. say hi to brian if hes still around. I miss those days. Gskill is rad, but i will always remember those mushkin guys for being really nice guys. I dont know any gskill dudes personally but as an outsider they are leaders and keep it pretty fair as far as prices. These trident kits are so rad looking I just hope they clock as good as they look.

Yeah man good times, back in 939 day, the quest for 250Mhz 2-2-2 heh heh. For benching music I listen to a lot of old stuff, Neil Young and Johnny Cash and similar. That has been a tradition for me for years, when I fire up the cooler I put on personal jesus and go to work. Then when I get some good results I usually switch to ramones and some old school punk rock. Oc song is def inthe mix now, listened to it 4 times in a row just now hahah

Whew, now I can post some of this stuff! A couple results were featured in our Ivy Bridge review today, but these are a couple quick RAM results. I've had very little time with the kit on a Z77 motherboard (about 30 minutes on a just-installed Maximus V GENE), but this kit is looking killer.

How about rated timings, rated vDIMM (1.65V)....and DDR3-2800 stable by just changing the divider. Sound good? Sounded good to me too.

Not enough you say? Let's have a very minor bump in vDIMM to 1.67V. It's not stable by any stretch, but I only had a few minutes to play and came up with DDR3-2900 with rated timings.

It looks like the only thing holding them back is time! I've got to do the actual review work in the mean time but will post any additional results as they come in the next week or two.

EDIT - hokie you are cheating with 2T!

Haha...it's not cheating if that's where they're rated!

Both have 2666 AFAIK. I don't think anyone has the 2800 kit in the wild. Could be wrong though.

Heh, from the ease we had getting stable 2800, maybe they just changed the sticker.

(I'm kidding people, don't let that start a rumor, I'm 100% positive they wouldn't do that.)

It actually took some work for me to get 2800 and I need 1.7v + cold. I was stuck around 2750 until I found the right combo of settings. I guess the kits and IMC will vary a bit.

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Highly doubt it. I'll try as soon as I can, likely tomorrow.

Everything identical, except 1T instead of 2T.

    Like a boss.

I have a request to try CL10 at 2800. Hopefully it won't take too much vDIMM. We'll see, hopefully tomorrow. For now, sleep.

    Thing is I can do 2800 CL 10-12-12-30 1T 1.78Vdimm with the 16GB RipjawsZ 2400C9-11-11 kit... got a TridentX 2666 kit inbound too... I wonder if the 2600 C10 isn't better specced...

Where's Hiwa when you need him ( prolly in some Persian restaurant again :p )
