This reminds me of what was happening with my ASUS P67. USB keyboard (G15) would bluescreen my machine after 3 days consistently on USB3 ports. (solved by BIOS update one year later)

Can someone provide a reason for why there are problems with USB2 keyboards in USB3 slots?

In my limited testing (F5 / stock), it appears to be stable with no affects, including my G15 keyboard in a non-red (USB2) port. Will report back benchies / settings / unusual behavior ~UDH5~

F7 so far so good. Ive had so many issues from day 1...But once you hav all the voltages setup proper ! It's rock solid..im gona put up some more benchies soon.

Dont give up peeps I nearly did. I started with F4 + Gskill sticks.

IMC + VTT voltages i think is the key to most issues. It needs to be set higher than most older boards ive owned.

I agree... This board does seem very solid once you get everything dialed in.

With SB I would set vccio voltage for imc... What is the relationship now on this board with the separate vtt and imc voltages with regards to stable overclocks?
Ryzen 9 on the test bench... Sometimes older generation/tech as well.

TO me it is a simple thing, you add on a jacket with some vents it isn't going to be cooler than if you didn't wear the jacket.
Perhaps if you tested with no airflow at all versus airflow through the built in fan then it would be the same, but then again in a case you always have airflow. I know a lot of people enjoy the TA b/c it blocks the view of the circuits which they don't like.

Anyways yea you should be fine with either choice.
The logic behind your argument is quite obvious, for I won't debate the fact that the TA would certainly trap heat and increase temps without the fans. Trust me, I'm not entirely sold on the idea--that's why I'm waiting for the Max V Formula. ROG boards undergo more thorough testing than Asus' mainstream product line, which includes the Sabertooth series. I'm also taking a close look at the MSI Z77A-GD65 which appears to be one of the most stable Z77 boards thus far and it appears to be one hell of an overclocker for the money, though my experience with MSI has been mixed in the past.

Now to get back on topic...

Some users are still experiencing random lockups and freezing issues even with the latest UD5H F8a & F8b BIOS updates. I'm sure you're aware of this as I've seen you post on some of these other forums. If/when I consider purchasing the UD5H I'll wait until the dust settles and these issues are completely resolved. Looks like several mb manufacturers are having issues with Z77 USB detection and the like. Reminds me of the SATA 3 issues with the P67, though not nearly as severe.

I know you are waiting to get a 77 board but this may be helpful to some.

I find lockups only after loading optimised defaults following a BIOS wipeoput.... if you just enter BIOS & set things up without loading optimised defaults its fine

Don't have another keyboard here at the momebt so basically I can't get past the after clear bios screen.

    I stand humbly corrected.

I'm gonna keep a watch here and other UD5H forum threads to see what unfolds. I really like the UD5H so hopefully these issues will get ironed out in several weeks.

Uninstall Intel USb 3.0 tell me what happens.

Or also set your Vcore to your VID, manually, and see what happens.

borrowed my brother's logitech backlit kb and was able to select optimized defaults and continued... i'm not even to the point of OCing yet but i can try manually selecting those voltages for you

usb3.0 shouldnt be an issue because in windows its fine or do you mean disable it in the bios?

EDIT: can't enter the bios now with even the logitech kb.. it only worked after the bios clear... back to F5 i go

    Something to try RE USB

Check onboard USB header there is a port specifically for Charging..If you have plugged something into this port then try taking it out and use a non charging USB header. Or just remove while you test. Its a long shot no idea if it will help but its worth a try.

Back in the days i used get this issue where the keyboard was not detected all i did to fix this was to use a ps/2-USB adapter and voila it would work.

The UD5 doesnt have a Ps/2 port. Im guessin there must be a bios option to enable specific types of keyboards.

I switched on today using latest F7 bios. It turned ON n OFF 4 times before booting i prev set my DDR volatge to 1.41v it went up to 1.5v on its own. (This happens randomly)

This is the only issue i have at the mo..im increasing IMC + VTT 1 step at a time now to see if this resolves my issue.

Id really like to know if the F7 bios supports low voltage dimms and has Gskill memory support been fully sorted.

Hi guys I need a bit of help with MVP!

I have not read up on MVP other than Sin's how to post 2 of this thread & I googled my problem but an answer didn't jump out at me so please don't shoot me up too bad.

I have my DVI cable in the onboard socket, integrated graphics on & set to boot first. I also have the latest Intel HD4000 drivers catalyst & MVP drivers/software installed yet when I get into windows I get an error message.

"The Catalyst Control Centre is not supported by the driver version of your
enabled graphics adapter. Please upgrade your ATI Graphics driver or enable your ATI Adapter using The Displays Manager"

Any ideas what I've done wrong?

I tried to update BIOS, new windows installation, two different cables (they are working on laptop) and no success
The strange thing is that IP-TV is working normally. Just internet doesn't.

Gents, I am attempting to leverage the mSATA port on this board, but for whatever reason my RunCore SSD is not being found.

Is there a special configuration in the BIOS I am missing? Currently, I have the Intel SATA set to RAID, but have tried IDE/AHCI also, but no drive detected?!

UD5H - BIOS = F5. Thanks for any suggestions.(there is no drive on port 5 installed)

I don't know if this has been asked before (I searched and haven't found)...
Does anyone know what kind of thermal compound comes applied to the PCH heatsink?
Is it any good or should it be replaced for another TIM, like Arctic Cooling MX-2?

Reason of my question is because of the PCH temperatures.
ATM PCH temperature is 55ēC but it will go a bit higher up to 58ēC. Ambient temperature ~25ēC.
I'm not sure if those temps are OK or if should and can be improved by changing the TIM.

I know it can be improved by adding a fan blowing air directly on the heatsink because I tested and temperatures got lower but I don't recall exactly how much.

There is another motherboard, an Intel DH61BE [picture] running with a G840 CPU and the PCH temps go up to 77ēC (but usually ~65ēC). Adding a fan blowing air directly on the small heatsink makes it 43ēC.

Those are the first LGA 1155 boards I ever used so I'm quite unfamiliar with the PCH temperatures.
