Why don't you just get someone to make you an 8 or 12 62mm TEC chiller block. It'd have much greater performance and probably still cost less. Unless you are ripping the Boreas units out of your old computer. Anyways I'll look forward to future updates.

flack-spammer & Ultrasonic 2 - Yeah I'm sure I could but thats not the look I'm after... Most of the parts for this build have been donated.... This will way outperform my last build and I've been experimenting with a few modifications that have shown good results.

The floating motherboard is an interesting design, one which I quite like. What made you decide on that?

Oj101 - Thanks, I love the design and the horizontal tray makes it easier to install additional / heaver components.

Yeah this thing should pull approximately 1200watts under a full load... That’s why I’m going to build a controller that will allow me to limit the amount of TEC’s needed… No reason to have them all fired up when the computer’s running at idle speeds….

    AHAHAHAHA this will be epic!

But your cooling system will draw more power then 3 GTX480's in TRI SLI loaded...

    NaeKuh,
Epic would be nice… I had 24 TEC’s in my last system with 3 8800’s and the power consumption was around 713 watts idle and 926 watts under a full load w/ the CPU @ 4.2… Dual PSU is a must on this build….

Not sure how practical of a build this will be but I'm sure it'll keep me busy.

    The Shooter,
The anodized panels are being shipped from the US and I should have them within a few days… I wish I could take full credit for the renderings but most of that belongs to MM… They will be making most of the primary cuts and I’ll be making the rest.

All the panels arrived today and it only took about an hour to put together... The only thing I’m not too happy about is that it has razor sharp edges… I cut my fingers a few times - Nothing too serious...

That sure is one extreme project! I really like the look of that case.
I'm not really familiar with TEC chillers - where are the 48 individual TECs going?
I do know my custom made waterchiller is more power-efficient

not over 48 tec's which he is gonna cycle.

His CoP will be much greater then yours jcool, he's actually using TEC's properly, thats why.

Your unit will be better then a conventional tec unit, but this guy is way beyond conventional.

Really? My waterchiller can cope with ~1KW heatload at 400W electrical power draw, while keeping the water at 10C below ambient. Hard to beat that efficiency really.

you can have a TEC chiller run at 7 to 1 if you want . That's in theory at least.

in theory as long as the delta is kept low a TEC chiller can be mind blowingly "efficient"

I see.. so the main factor here is how far below ambient one goes?
Interesting. I'd still like somebody to explain how to mount 48 TECs in one loop - or why you need that many in the first place?
Can't you just use 24 TECs that are twice as strong?

you could use 24 but then the efficiency will drop

yeah when you have that many tec's you can really milk the effiency, so at that point even a standard phase compressor cant keep up with the CoP.

Trust me i know how both work, and unless your going something this massive, you'd be correct in your unit being more efficient.

However the moment u reach the mid double digits in TEC's, he has you beat.

Currently working on the chiller with a few projected delays…

Unfortunately I’m missing a few crucial parts needed to complete the chiller. Hopefully I can resolve this issue within the next few weeks.
