    That is odd... :-/
I have never personally experienced scaling past 1V VCCSA, I just asked NickShih about his experience, past 1.1v never benefit.

VCCIO has increased lots here, but... Its a dangerous thing to play too much with, in my experience, chips has clocked worse after too high voltage...

    expect 3D to be 5.4 - 5.5, 5.6 on a real good chip only. 2D maybe 50-100 MHZ higher.

    My chips usually did PI-32M

    ~ 4800 air (+50°C)
    ~ 5500 -50°C
    ~ 5800 -80°C
    ~ 6000 -110°C
    ~ 6300 -160°C

Mine are all pretty average, so it should be relatively easy to find chips that do better.

don't say that. I just had 3 cpus in a row that hardly would do 5.7 @-80°C.
still that was on MVG and I have the feeling MIVE runs a tad higher at thoose temps. Just built up the system to re-test. worst for now is 32m 5650 @1.72V @-80°C...

Finding good chips seems to be pretty hard. You can hit 6.4 or 6.5 on the first buy but all the next chips can be much worse.
I am having some real bad luck for the last chips...

€: MIVE will give you higher raw-mhz most of the time but on 3202 there have been removed 01 & 32m tweaking options...what a bad move asus!

anyone have an idea of what a 6.5+ CPU might be worth to an OC'er?

it all depends on how much they had to drink at the time of sale.

6.5 is not golden by any means, and I woudn't pay extra for those clocks.

6.8+ is golden imho and I am sure that would commend top dollar to someone.

yeah you can hit 6.5 on the first buy if you are lucky - first strike can get you anywhere between 6.3 - 6.5...
"golden" chips need 6,6 to be remarked...good luck on that, I am searching for one still...

just about to finish my first runs on 3770K and not sure if this is all...

P67 MIVE - 3202 Bios - somehow the "xtreme tweaking" option got lost in the latest update...why???
this board pwnz MVG on raw clockspeed all the time and I have more than 12 month "in battle" with it now - nothing can beat "ultra durable" RoC ^_^

    Cooling: -80°C cheap-cascade

So the new MVG has a big advantage in 32m an 01 - 05 also good...

5.5 "lowclock" 110+ bclk challenge anyone?!

01...without tweaking you are lost ^^

So much benching on Ivy and lardi keeps pushing me to test ram somehow...I start to hate the new gen due to the heavy workload

    regards
    Chris

At this point, I wouldn't pay for higher guaranteed clocks anyway. Still too early in the game to know what is really golden and what will become average over time.

Remember Sandy? Early golden was 5600MHz. After a couple of months, that was normal clocks.

    No, I dont remember.
January 2011 5.6ghz was top of the dome, yes! While stores were still out of stock, and nobody except CPU mafia in Taiwan could bin.... February was a little better, and 5.75'ish was the new 'golden'..... Wild guess why? You think it is because they got better? Or you think it was because people could finally bin?
Today May 2012, almost a year and a half later, would you suggest 5.75ghz being none golden? Well I dont...

Board died and took this retail 3570K with it. The CPU itself then took another Maximus V Gene board with it.

    This is retail chip:

The ultimate binned Ivy should be high Mhz with good imc, scaling up with cold. Lol

Its out there...somewhere, just waiting to be found

It always sucks when this happenes
RMA it and write into descripton "Die looks brand-new - checked!"

I just sended stummerwinter 2 new chips which I pretested here for 1300+ imc...they are not that impressive on cascade (almost equal even one is Malay and one is Costa Rica) but lets see what they do under LN2...
