All this is a big boop what i mean is that low end engineers do not i repeat do not get access to the models, phase maps, etc. They all require access to something much more secure than Intel's D&F service and it requires a specific hardware/terminal. I can access Intel's D&F service but my iD is only clear for a specific area and that area is the one that has code names, presentations, etc. The more specific things are not accessible till i go to my office and use their terminal. I don't think the engg. had access to a final layout or specifics from his home but yes access to common structure information is possible.

They get real uptight around here in the states sometimes when you quit working for one company and move to a competitor.
Even if you don't steal a thing, they still act like you did ^^... and they come knocking to personally threaten you.
Happened to my mom once, had a few months of bs to deal with but that was about it, she didn't steal anything, there was nothing to steal, it was a commen screw machine/cnc job...
They really get uptight about that sort of stuff sometimes.

I don't know what the guy was thinking, it's not like amd could use any of that info anyways.
At least not much of it.
wtf did she work for the mafia? I have switched companies with the new company being a competitor of the other and didnt hear a thing about it. Its life, who wouldnt leave a company for another one that will pay better and have other opportunities? If my old company gave me crap I would have owned them especially if they bothered my daily life.

I am not supporting the guy, but still. AMD turning him in is funny. makes me laugh, it also makes me wonder why Intel didn't realize it.
Actually not really. Reverse engineering is plenty part of it, but corporate espionage isn't as big a problem as you think it is. It's far more likely to be performed by new entrepreneurs going to tiny companies--major companies (Intel & AMD, Pepsi & Coca Cola, etc) don't want their competitor's IP--even if it means a competitive advantage. It's too big a hit on their reputations and even a successful product line could end in complete disaster when reparations required.

    No lol ^^.

    I assume...
She was a women, worked for many years while certain newbie's got paid more.
Found somewhere else to work where she started out at a higher wage.
Previous company throws a fit and essentially tries to ruin her life I suppose.

happens, people are dicks, it's not really news...

I don't remember much about it.
I remember some dude showing up to tell her about it or whatever and I was feeding the horse in the back yard.
Afterwards she told me what was going on, she had to goto court or something I really don't know :|.
All I know is she was harassed because she switched employers.

AMD started off by reverse-engineering the Intel 8088 or something didn't they?
