Voodoo was for AGP slot, right? But those IIRC couldn't be more then one on mobo. I wonder if these days, when one has to use some pcie>agp or alike adapters to use such card on newer mobo, if it's possible to use several such cards in some SLI via hacked up drivers for even more awesomeness (though probably not, as old SLI was via connecting cards via video cables outside case, thus need more vga connectors?).

if i remember right, sli was always internal.

it was crossfire that used that stupid cable for like a year or two.

That is incorrect. The first generation 3DFX Voodoo 1 SLI was external VGA cable based. I owned one and this was the manner that SLI was achieved. It was only till later when ATI had used this method as well.

I used to have a Diamond Viper 770 PCI and a Monster 3DFX Voodoo 1 powering one of my gaming rigs back in the day, networking with BNC cables

I can also confirm the external cable for the Voodoo 2 -- I had 2 Monster 12MB Voodoo 2s in my P2 400. Man, those were the days!

    You mean 1st party, surely?

3dfx invented SLI - nVidia acquired the technology and name when they bought the company some years back.

while abbreviation is the same, 3dfx SLI stands for Scan Line Interleave and nvidia SLI - Scalable Link Interface

Duke had vertical autoaim for weapons in doom fashion, so yes, it was playable with keyboard just fine (180deg turn with backspace sometimes can be handy). You needed mouse in quake though for extra frags.

IS that really a cup of milk your using to hold up the card? All you had to do was give me a height measurement and I could have built a small stand

Any overclocking numbers? I remember VSA100 chips could do 200MHz on good aircooling.
    Formerly XIP, now just P.

On the Voodoo5 6000 rev.3700A the default o/c is 166 MHz with originals heatsinks.
If you can have 183 MHz during a test with benchmarks like 3DMark2001se you are lucky
If you can have between 190 and 192 MHz you have a very good o/c card
