I have my doubts that cooling will make much of a difference with these cards sadly. I was going to slap an Antec 620 onto my card but I'm not so sure that I'm even going to bother.

I really hope that someone figures out a way to tweak the voltage via software but I'm not so sure that is going to happen.

cooling lets the autoclock stay higher. TPU did a test on it.

Unless ambients are insanely high the stock cooler is more than enough to keep it at under 70c or so. These cards run ridiculously cool especially without voltage control. I doubt that cooling will be the limiting factor for most people.

I dont know about you guys but i think these cards are crap for a modder.
    Bios ...nope
    cooling...it dont matter
    Voltage...in your dreams
I had one of my cards on dice yesterday it help 00000% for clocking, then super charged the air down to 10c more of nothing,h70 mod and i got a whole lot a nothing.
They suck for older benches big time...so happy i kept my 448 ti's two of those destroy this card in old guy benches
Here vantage dice by the intake to cool the air
10c idle 44c max i picked up 0% in clocks every other card i ever had picked up some with cold even cool running voltage starved cards.

Oh and if you think it matters much a way to keep set voltage more constaint is to use NVI for 1.17v
it will not back down if 132% is set with it if you did not check already voltage will go a tad higher if read with dmm.

70C with the default auto fan profile? Don't think so. Perhaps at 100% but I don't think most people are okay with the noise levels at max fan speed for normal 24/7 usage. Benching is another story.

Have you used one of these cards? At 1215mhz after about a half hour or so of heaven I saw 62c at just over 60% fan speed but thats with a really low ambient. These cards run super cool and quiet. Maybe on a hot summer day you might have to crank the fan but not most of the year.

i got mine last night and did some playing this morning
using the auto fan profile i was at 85-86c locked in, and the power usage was at around 115% (not the same as gpu load which was at like 98%)
also my clocks were at a solid 1215mhz the whole time, which is fine cause i only added 100mhz to the core, so its using all the gpu power it really can. i still will get a waterblock and then we can see what low temps does for these things.

i however have a weird bug. im trying to OC and test it out, but for some reason on 3dmark11 my vsync is on. even though the app says its off, and its off under everything that can control the card, im still stuck at 60fps on the 3rd test for the entire time. also i dont think tessellation was working in that app, cause the statues looks so ugly and blurry. but works fine in unigene.

Yes I had one on day one. I've found with the auto fan profile and a 20C ambient that my cards hovers around the mid to high 70s mark(this is my experiance running various newer games at both 1920x1080 with 4xMSAA and FXAA as well as 3D Vision at 720 ) The cards not terribly loud at load but its not quite quiet by my standards. It does run cooler with a manual fan override of course but the added noise isn't worth it to me.

I didn't want to start a new thread, and I'm wondering if anyone using MSI Afterburner can tell me if its possible to run the fan lower than 30%. I know this card runs amazingly quiet under load, but I'm more interested in how low of a percentage it can run in 2D. Sorry to go off topic, but no one on any other forum seems to be using MSI AB lol. Thanks in advance
