    I'm patiently waiting on a 4gb GTX 680 myself.

Charlie is good for lols, I'll give him that. Oh no, I can't find any 680s for sale!!

Not sure what it's like in the states, but we usually have plenty of cards here in the UK.

Some on pre-order but they have a lot of them in stock. Same on launch. If you want a 680 you can get one, easily.
People that want/wanted one have one, simple as that.

^ its a total waste of money unless you plan to volt mod it
because its still reference design you cannot push it past 1.175v, and since the cards were built to run stock 1.175 theres no worries about blowing one up using just 4 phase

After April, the GTX680 at .22% and the HD7970 at .36%, percent change in April for the 680 at .18% and change for 7970 at .02%.

So NVIDIA has sold almost 2/3 as many GTX680s in 5 weeks as AMD has sold 7970s in 15 weeks.

Note that NVIDIA has sold as many 680s in the first month of sales as AMD sold 7970s from 1/8/2012-2/29/2012. The difference in supply is that more people wanted GTX680s- people are buying them all.

Note the percent change for April- nine GTX680s sold for every HD7970. The launch of the GTX680 effectively ended HD7970 sales, when you're outselling your competitor 9:1, you effectively own the market.

As there is no reason to expect that the population of 1,000,000 STEAM survey users is any different than the non STEAM crowd, these numbers are proof you are incorrect. (as is Charlie)

7970s are only available because people aren't buying them.
Damn, look at the increase in DX9 and DX8 cards... That must mean more people bought those cards than DX11 cards.

No. In March / April there was a complete update of their metric which resulted in count changes. Hence why some of the results look.....odd.

Correct... but the bug caused a bias towards older systems. They corrected the issue in March which means no more bias to older systems.

Edit- The point I'm trying to make is there isn't enough information available to get more than a very high level generalization from these numbers. It is simply impossible to correlate the hardware survey to sales numbers.
