2x4GB ram that plays well with AMD

Besides some info regarding ripjaws i cant really find anything out there about 2x4GBsticks+AMD
And wich IC that are used is very much a mystery too it seemes.

    I took a gamble on a Patriot 1600mhz cas9 set and failed.
Now i dont know what set to get.

    I guess people will just tell me to get ripjaws but;
1, wich set? there is several.
And 2 and most important, G.Skill aint sold in Norway anymore.

There is however several options to choose from but no clue anywhere as to wich set that might be ok with AMD.

    Patriot 1600Mhz Gaming Sector 5 (9-9-9-24) (1.65v) (would only run cas11 @ 1600mhz)
Patriot 1600MHz Viper Xtreme Series Low Latency 8-9-8-24 Kit (1.65v)
Patriot 1600MHz Viper Xtreme Series Division 2 Low Latency 8-9-8-24 Kit (1.65v)
Patriot 2000MHz Viper Xtreme Series Enhanced Latency 9-11-9-27 (1.65v)

    Several Kingston HyperX sets:
    CL9 1.65v:
    Genesis KHX1600C9D3K2/8G
    Genesis XMP KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX
    T1 KHX1600C9D3T1K2/8G
    T1 KHX1600C9D3T1K2/8GX

    Apacer 2000MHz CL9-10-9-27 K2 GiantII P55 Kit (1.65v)

    Corsair XMS 1600mhz CAS9
    Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz CL9
    Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz CL8
    Corsair Dominator DHX+ 1600mhz CL9
Corsair Dominator GT 2000mhz CL9 (very expensive and not in stock)

OCZ Gold ultra low voltage 1333mhz (9.9.9.24) (1.5v)

    Mushkin Silverline Stiletto 1333mhz (9.9.9.24)

What do you mean when you say you gambled and failed?

The Patriot ram doesn't work? (I've owned Patriot ram a few times and never had any problems.)

I also owned G.Skill and that brand didn't seem to work well with AMD.

There are only 3 or 4 memory types that will work in your mobo at 4GB per slot. Take a look and try to find a kit with one of those mem chips.

When i said i failed i ment that while the ram do work, it doesnt work well. i am not able to change subtimings without failing to boot. So im stuck with cas 11 ram @ 1600mhz, and that aint very good(and its cas9 ram >_<)
I switched to the GA890GPA-UD3H today, the UD2 had pci-e problems...

And i cant look for ram with certain types of chips when there is almost 0 info (that i can find) about what chips different 4GB sticks use...

Edit: And that list only shows 1 and 2 GB sticks.

I have used the Corsair 4GB sticks (Econo kits) 1333mhz for 16GB total a system. There were used on Adobe video encoding boxes with 1090t CPU's most were Gigabyte boards. They have never had any issues. But they were not hyperformance kits and ran stock.

Well, 1333 cas9 or 1600 cas11 is rather unimpressive. Im looking for more like 1600 cas7 or 1800 cas8(on AMD).
I know the G.Skil F3-12800CL7D-8GBRH 1600 7-8-7-24 1.6v is capable, but G.skil aint available in Norway so im looking for something that can perform closer to that kit.
Besides, there are almost 0 info on wich IC that are used on different 4GB sticks, so it would be nice to be able to gather up some info

I use Gigabyte and i have updated to newest bios, but i just think that my patriot sticks dont play well with amd. I put my kingston sticks in the UD3H and they behave very similar as in the UD2H.

Hmm, just noticed that the OCZ flex/Mach Armor IC have the same type of numbering(naming?) as the Patriot IC...

    Nice info in this thread!

I can't offer you alot, and I know you said G.Skill wasn't an option for you, but here goes....

I just bought a RipjawX kit 8gb (2x4) 1600 CL9, and it works fine in a BioStar board. Just got it yesterday so haven't had much time, but it runs stock no problems.

I was going to try and get you a pic of the chips, but the heat spreader is stuck on there pretty good, and I didn't want to bend it (yet).

A freind of mine just built a new VM server using 16gb (4x4) of the Corsair Vengance modules.

He's not an overclocker, but said it was running without problems on a GBT UD5 with a 1055T.

Hope this helps a little........ Dave

My F3-16000CL9D-8GBFL kit plays well with my Thuban. I can do a stable 1000 without issues as long as the NB is at 2700 or below.
