Repairing of 3 Single-stages: Vapo LS, Mach 1 and LD unit . WORKLOG

    Hello

Currently I work over repairing 3 single-stages units:
    -vapochill LS
    -Prommie mach 1
    -LD unit.

Each have been incomplete and/or damaged .

Units were not good packed for shipping .

Vapo LS (the strongest damage ), LD SS and Mach 1.

Mach 1 has been without suction line.

    I've started with Prommie

    I've removed stock electric.

    More pictures soon .

    Regards
    Peter

Great to see you back at it!

Wow, some 'wrecks' to work with. Did you get any panels too, or are they trashed as well?

I'm sure they'll get the usual attention they deserve Anything special planned, or just bringing them back to life?

Good grief, such a mess to clean up

Reminds of the unit FEDEX dropped off of a two story building that I had going to a customer.

I'm not back, I'm in all the time .

Owner of those units have panels at home, they weren't shipped to me because they can be damaged during shipping .

About special - I don't know if painting of cases is special ?

hope you'll get them working well.
how much load are you tuning the units? will you boost the condensers to get rid of more load?

Looks like they all came from the same place. What's the story behind that?

Yes Currently I'm finishing Mach1 with much bigger condenser (owner supply me also that condenser). But one fan on condenser is still too little, those Panaflo fans from stock Prommie 1 are weak So tomorrow tests with push-pull (push = Delta 120x38mm , pull= panaflo from mach1).

About load I start from 315W, if will be too much - I use lower loads.

Owner of those units bought them cheap or even get them for free - I don't know really. Vapo LS was moded already by another phase-changer in DK. First plan was to take only NL11F compressors from them for SS CPU+GPU project but finaly I make those project on 2 rotaries and repair those small units .

    LD unit before mod.

New black paint . Not powdercoat, just cheap homemade wet acrylic paint.

Leak testing with nitrogen in water .

Holddown must have been moded because I had only versions for 42/54mm evaps, and that one is 38mm.

Also MUCH bigger condenser. New drier, added shrader valve on discharge side.

    to sum up .

Yes, it's Your condenser . On front now is DELTA 120mm, I don't know exactly how many CFM but for sure way over 100CFM . Stock Prommie's fans are very weak compared to it.

    Now Vapochill LS:

Case has been heavy damaged, so I decide to remove it ...

    +remove whole stock electric.

    and scrap it ..

That's amount of oil which I've poured from compressor :-O - approx 20 ml.

And that's suggusted amount of new oil.

Now that will be just benching unit on baseplate .

First time I soft-solder captube to accumulator - and I've loved that work .

Pressure testing of whole unit together .

    Regards

"vapochill LS" has been finished and loadtested :

    Final unloaded temperature.

    Final 315W load temperature.

We decided to change evap in "unit with LD case"- old wasn't flat .

Plus suction line will be much longer now. Second suction line for another unit (CPU+GPU ).
