    G.Skill Sniper 14900CL9D-8GBSR

Hi. I bought some of this RAM and put it in this setup:

    CPU - Intel i5 2500K
    MOBO - Asus P8Z68-V/GEN3
PSU - Antec EarthWatts Series EA-750 Green 750W

The RAM says in CPU-Z that the max bandwidth is PC3-12800 (800mhz)... Why does it not say it's 14900?

    The DDR3 JEDEC standard is DDR3-1600 (800MHz)

All that shows you is when you insert the modules, with AUTO settings, the max the motherboard can default to is DDR3-1600 (800MHz). You must enable XMP or manually input DRAM settings to operate the memory's rated specifications. DRAM is different than other hardware, it is not 'pre-overclocked', where you can just plug and play. XMP allows the motherboard to detect and configure settings based on the profile in the DRAM module, but otherwise the user is required to input the DRAM frequency, timings, and voltage(s) in BIOS/EFI to operate properly. With a set up like yours, it is G.Skill approved, so you can enable XMP and everything will be ready to go. For systems that are not approved, manual configuration is typically necessary and highly recommended over XMP since we can not be certain XMP will be perfect for those hardware combo.

    Thank you
