    Dumpster dive

My wife works at a local steel mill and called to tell me that they were getting ready to toss a bunch of old server equipment, so I decided to grab them before the dumpster was emptied. I was able to grab 5 servers (2 of which were dual socket) and 3 flat panel monitors in all.
The kicker was that everything powered up, only down side was I didn't have the video out that some of them required.

    Flat panels:

Ok it's always cool to find new gear, but I have to ask. What in the world are you going to do with stuff that old?

The LCDs are ok but the rest is due for retirement. I had to chuckle to myself when you were faced with a motherboard without onboard VGA.

Go find an overhead projector, take out the LCD panel and make a poor-mans projector.

Didn't know what I was getting until I took them apart, but yeah, keeping the monitors and tossing the bulk of the remaining gear.

    Nice find there Gunslinger

It reminds me when I found Asus CusIII mobo and a Pentium III 1000Mhz (or higher, I forgot) in good overclocking condition and a Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 with good power amp. module @ my local Goodwill store.....all for $20

I have to spray the sub woover though...just in case it has bug's HQ in it, after all its NYC. Lol

I've dug some good old stuff, but nothing I've ever dug has been that CLEAN. If it were me, I'd take everything apart and sell as a lot on eBay, stuff still goes for prices worth listing 1 auction.
