As far as your OC tutorial is concerned, unfortunately for me it is no go. The PLL is a culprit. When on default and everything auto, in BIOS PLL shows 1.813-1.819. And it's stable up to 4.6 GHZ. To reach higher OC, I need to set PLL 1.81875 (it shows 1.829-1.832), meaningless the VCCSSA= VCCIO on auto or set to 1.100.
I think it is worth mentioning for everyone who has a crappy CPU sample as I have

One thing I noticed after switching to 1204 BIOS. In BIOS I have LN2 mode enabled. Shouldn't the jumper be responsible for this option to be enabled? Of course I didn't even touch the jumper...

OK I'm starting to like this motherboard more Or it might be the 1204 BIOS.
The LN2 mode just disappeared after the first reset. I mean power off the psu and power on again and there is no LN2 mode anymore
More to this: when I reached 49 multiplayer, my keyboards (connected to two USB 2.0 on the back) backlight started flashing (1 time per 5 sec). I connected the keyboard via USB 3.0- no flashing. Back to USB 2.0- flashing again. This effect took place only when logged to Windows.
After I reset BIOS to default- flashing gone

Someone has similar impressions? Mayby using the 1204 BIOS too?

    Hey bud

lol i didnt realize there was a 1204 BIOS im so happy with 1101 with latest RAID ROM and new RST drivers for my RAID0 of SSD

well im sorry you couldnt reach your goal but its not so easy on 3770K's to reach 5GHz stable, easier on the 3570K's

About W8 i hated it and loved it the day i put it, hated it cauz it keeps locking freezing no matter the new updates from intel nvidia etc, loved it cauz i feel it faster...

Crysis2 wont run, Max Payne3 also, BF3 stuttered, so i guess isnt mature yet

let me know if i can help you further mate !
    Cheers

How do you know when a mono is dying? Even after clearing CMOS and loading defaults it more of ten than not refuses to boot into windows. It freezes at the "flying" starting windows screen.

Tried individual member sticks stressed tested my CPU all at stock and it seems fine. Some times my HD takes bit to initialize but happens on two HDS. No artifact so that should rule out the bid. Only thing is mono or PSU. I have the maximus v gene.

I´m trying to overclock my Samsung 30nm on this motherboard, anything over 2000mhz is a pain to get windows loading. Can someone pls give me som advice on voltage and other settings to achieve more OC ?

I meant that my X79 setup couldn't do 2666, I managed to do 2600 Super Pi 32M stable once before my chip degraded. I'm sure 2666 isn't even stressing this 3570k!

Situman, do you have another cpu to try? Sounds like a faulty cpu to me.

Having said that, i flashed bios 1204 this afternoon. All seems well, the rapid boot is a very welcome feature of this bios. LLC needs to be set at ultra high again with this bios or else Vcore went from 1.32V down to 1.296 under 100% load causing a bsod when set to high.

Somehow I feel like its the cpu, but the time I can get into windows and run Prime, it didn't crash. As long as I am in windows, I am golden. Its when i reboot or cold boot, it gets stuck.

    Hmm, corrupted bios maybe?

Don't know if the bootblock gets updated after bios flash. Maybe you should try the usb drive in rog connect usb port method to flash bios.

I see that , but for me Ivybridge processors are "aging" fast and bios changes runs accordingly

If you installed windows with your HDD set as IDE, then you load defaults or clear cmos it automatically defaults to AHCI, which will cause it to hang or bsod at the splash screen. Make sure you set it back to IDE after clearing cmos or loading defaults if this is the case.

Its also possible that you have corrupted you install.

What do you mean by "eats"? That you need more Vcore or that Vcore droops more under load? I have to set LLC at Ultra High to get it stable.

well Zeus i couldnt fix it it also fails to pass windows assesemnt no matter what vcore, i saw some errors like it was memory so im tired of this, i will go back to 0904 as its the best one for me

with 0904 i use offset +0.245 and LLC ultra high

with 1101 i use offset +0.245 and LLC extreme

with 1204 i couldnt figure whats wrong...

    cheers
