    Looking to move to i7-3770k

Looking to finally upgrade my system with the new i7. Which mobo and ram would you guys recommend? The defaults are usually Asus or Gigabyte. Not looking to break the bank to gain an extra 100mhz. I'm still rocking a Penryn(?? dont remember anymore) and a 5870 and I do plan on keeping the 5870 a bit longer until the HD7 series come down in price. I mean I only play SC2 and not sure if a new CPU and more ram will help at high settings but its a start.

Don't really understand all these new technical jargons anymore so it will be a learning curve. Kinda lost the overclocking bug a few years back when gains where not very noticeable unless benching and constantly chasing after the newest and latest.

    Cpu: i7 3770k
    Mobo:??
    Ram:??

    Thanks,

    Msi or Asus

For msi, z77 gd55 or gd65 based on budget

Preferably 16gb or at least 8 gb ram, at least 1600mhz

Is the Gene the micro ATX with x79 chipset? It looks pretty nice. How do I know which brand kits have Hynix or Samsung ics?

    - uhhhh MSI.....lets not go there.

I've been making do with a Q6600 ... I should upgrade too. For me Asus has been my default choice. I tend to get whatever is the most popular on newegg that way you're kinda buying a board that they get more feedback on. Better BIOS updates in the future maybe.

i think is better idea at first try a good sandybridge on Z77 chipset...i see nice BCLK speed at least with ivybridge and i think that with an good sandyb1tch,may be Z77 can push a little more doing diference with ivyb1tch obsolet...yes i know is not the same but i will try SANDYb1tch + Z77 and then think in ivyb1ych.
