2X Copper PCB

GIGABYTE Ultra Durable™ 4 design features 2X the amount of copper of a traditional motherboard for both the Power and Ground layers which dramatically lowers system temperature by delivering a more efficient spreading of heat from critical areas of the motherboard such as the CPU power zone throughout the entire PCB. GIGABYTE's Ultra Durable™ 4 also lowers the PCB impedance by 50%, which helps to reduce electrical waste and further lowers component temperatures. A 2X Copper layer design also provides improved signal quality and lower EMI (Electromagnetic Interference), providing better system stability and allowing for greater margins for overclocking.

Humidity Protection

I have to agree. Had my GB X58-UD3R for what? 2 years now and aside from the "4 boot" issue it is a champ.
Fixed that with the F5 bios and it's as stable as my SM server boards!

I think that complaint was valid back in november 2011. The Z77 series has a rugged and above all functional look to them. Me gusta.

I've used Gigabyte since socket A days, never had issues and it's still nice to see them continually push forward in the build quality department.

Remind me of something. Were there reports of mass failures of their cpu vrm or are you still referencing that one incident caught on video?

You can get bad components or poorly assembled boards from any vendor. Just check the customer feedback sections on Newegg or alike.

Asus, well... I liked my old 939 board I had from them. It was awesome. But I have two fried Asus boards on my desk that Asus claims are "ok" and the problem with the PCs must be something else, even though I already swapped everything else out without success. New motherboards for both systems (1 was Gigabyte, 1 was Biostar) and both systems have been running perfectly ever since.

My previous board was an MSI (good board) and my new board is going to be a Gigabyte. I have a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R in my PC I built for the office and its been fine, and I have used several gigabyte boards in customer builds. No failures yet.

I had a Gigabyte 939 board die on me due the capaciters just giving out and leaking. It looked horrible lol. But that was after 2 years, still didn't leave a good impression of my first and only Gigabyte. I want to try another one soon but that thought haunts me still.

FWIW it isn't entirely Gigabyte's fault there. Yeah, they should have chosen better caps in the first place, but everyone was having issues with crap caps for a while. Anyway, they've since fixed that (as have many companies) and use good caps these days. Most learned.
