About 9:30 EST and the server is popping along quite well. This morning it was lagging like all hell.

Looks like it's finally fixed on my end. I was going to the standard domain name and was getting a straight IP instead. And couldn't stay logged in. Seems to be straight now!

even though the forums are now faster than in the past months, XS is still by far the slowest site i visit regularly atleast it's now useable again

Dont kill me Charlie, nor you Dave!
Site is slightly faster, but, still slow... Either routing is freaking bad, or others have very different expectations to smooth surfing.

BUT I have given up as for speed on XS, it is well known to be xtremely slow, just make it STABLE, that is all one can ask for at this point.

God's truth, working fine for me and yes, fast..I'm on a 30/15mbit line but using 70% of that on a app I run and it's still fast.

    test

Posting that took somewhere between 3-3½ seconds, which is not fast... Navigating is about same time, which is not fast, the delay as for ping is about 450% of google in USA, national not comparable..

Did some generel testing of the servers on speedtest.net, seems Vegas has poor routing, high latency compared to the ones in LA.

EDITave, does not matter about your speed of internet, nor would it matter if I had 250/250mbit, it is the latency that matters.

I noticed one thing that seems to be borked - Search. It works for stuff created since the server switchover, but when I did a search for something older I got nothing

Other than that, things are working nicely. And frankly I'd rather have fast site and borked search than a working search and a slow site. Google can be used to search the site, but not make it go faster

Fast enough and stable now. Had couple minutes there with no response and started to twitch, didn't realise how much I'd missed XS.

It isn't as fast as some, but a 1 - 1.5 second response at worst I can sure live with. It'll improve as Charles gets things finetuned I'm sure but that's fine for me. My 'net is mediocre at best and I'm not that concerned about super speed posting as long as it's smooth and...well...always there.

I noticed the XS dental and vision discount post in the Online Deals section so there's your dentures and glasses covered. I will LOL when the viagra discount goes in that section too
