Lightbulb *** Project de NOVO ***

    de novo (Latin) [diː ˈnəʊvəʊ]
    adv
    from the beginning; anew

This one is gonna be my first serious project and I am aiming to come up with something new with a mix of old and new parts; hence the name de novo...

Since my free time is very limited, hopefully I will be done by May 6 (my birthday) - sorry in advance for the upcoming slowww and longgg process.

That's it for now. Next time I will talk about the parts.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: since I started this project almost a month ago I will bring you up-to-date in the next four five posts.

    Update #3

I have been using some parts including cpu block, cpu, ram, etc. for last 15 months. Then I took everything apart and used all the parts on air in stock settings and put them inside a case.

Today I took everything out of stacker to finalise the planning phase.

Enough talking - here is the latest situation :p

I sold my evga e757 mobo to get this baby

Even tough I will be using the cpu around 4-4.2ghz daily, this mobo is top notch

it has a very basic back panel and the most important thing for me (digital audio put) is not present. However, there is a 2-pin spdif out at the lower left part which will enable me to use a female rca and a bracket to send 1001101 data to my stello da100 dac

hmm, still yummy, paid a lot at some point

and here is how I am using my pc now - i wish I had a spare psu while performing the sleeving of enermax infiniti

    byeee folks...

    Update #4

... and nothing beats a draft plan

Last night I disassembled the stacker completely (took many hours to drill out the rivets).

Next steps are drawing the cut lines and sending it for cutting. I don't have any power tools, but thinking to get a dremel 4000 with some accessories; then perhaps I will do the cutting myself.

    Here are some interim shots:

    take care all!

EDIT: oops forgot about the 10-12" of snow accumulated in last 24 hours and the snow witch!
