120Hz Gaming LCDs + Gamma Shift

I was trying my old Acer 120Hz LCD again tonight with some games. I love how fluid it is.

What annoys me is the gamma shift. A color seems accurate in the middle of the screen, too light at the bottom and too dark at the top. The same color will seem a few shades darker or lighter depending on where it appears on the screen.

I look at it dead on, so it's not from viewing it at an odd angle.

In games it's not as obvious as on the desktop in general use or when viewing photos.

So my question is, are there any new 120Hz panels out there that tackle this issue better than others?

I'd like to get an alternate panel and I don't want to bother if none of them handle the issue better than the old Acer GD235HZbid.

Are you sure it's not just an uneven backlight rather than a panel issue?

The problem is that it is a TN panel. AFAIK there aren't any non-TN LCDs that can do 120hz yet.
