I would've returned them, but I would hate to get a lesser performing kit. And I did buy them on newegg.
I dont have X79, but I did have a set that wouldnt light up. I didnt think a single platform wouldnt light up, doesnt really make sense to me, but it looks like it. Do you have any other boards to try them on?

I have a few other machines to try them on but none which would be convenient. I actually read an article on OCN after your post where a guy said that they could be configured on another machine and then swapped over to the x79 platform. When I have the time to spare I'll give this a go and report back. If anyone else has done this with success, I'd appreciate the confirmation before I go to the trouble.

Did yours light up out of the package or did you have to configure them first with the mod utility?

    p8p67 pro has some issues

    I have asus p8p67 pro and 3770k
And two kits of these new tactical d9pfj

    They behave very strange though..

    I can do 1866 8-8-8-27-1T 1.575v very easy with 4x4GB
1600 6-6-6-18 1.600v very easy and bomb stable
    2000 9-9-9 1.6
    2000 8-8-8-27-2T 1.65v

    But everything above is unstable
Even relaxing as 10-10-10 or 11-11-11 doesnt help
    Voltage doesnt help
    I can boot 2133 and 2200 with 9-9-9 1.65v but its spi32m unstable

Does it have some known issues with my board?
I tried single, dual and quad mode too...the same result...

Well, maybe try a Z77 board instead? P67 + Ivy probably isn't the best option for overclocking and most P67 boards were tuned for Sandy which maxed at ~2133-2250 for most users.

Try 9-9-9-24 relaxing TRRD by 1 or 2 for 2133, then you tell us..

That's a great price, the same kit costs 65€ in Germany, you guys in the US are really lucky.

The first kit, of course, is the regular Ballistix and the last two are the Tracers and they are the same except for the color of the lights. If I recall correctly, the ones ending in RG are red and green lights, the ones ending in OB are orange and blue lights (Go GATORS!).

I think that they all sport the same IC (D9PFJ - see post #125 in this thread).

All of those 3 are the same IC. Those Tracers are nice too!

P.S. If Crucial use Hynix or Samsung ICs in their Ballistix Tracers then I wouldn't go for G.Skill Trident X

There were also some of the Kingston LoVo(s) @ 1.35v sporting the Micron chips, but not too long ago a member posted pics of his LoVo showing Hynix CFR ICs, so I don't know that you can count on the newer ones being D9PFJ. Best bet would be to stick to the Crucial branded modules.

I will be a very nice guy and share my Crucial tertiary timings...

They are magical, I've tried every possible combination and that's the best for stability and high clock.

Has Crucial switched to Samsung ICs, or have the Micron low power chips gone OVER 9000?!?! http://www.thinkcomputers.org/crucia...-kit-review/3/

Are you sure it's not Micron? He didn't even show 1M at 1200MHz, only bandwidth tests and a screenshot. If I'm not mistaken I remember seeing 1200MHz CL10 in this thread.

Did you try booting yours at higher CL values?

I don't know all I've tried worked fine in every system, but most I have to config it manually above 1866mhz.

They seems to be 100% stable and a tiny change make them 100% unstable. pretty hard to config
