Get the windows version of wget.
put it to folder where you want to dl the archive.

    Open command prompt.
head to the folder that contains wget.exe (cd command helps ) and run:
    wget -m http://file.abit.com.tw/pub/download/

I'll certainly take a backup from it, as i have couple NF7's in my collection and I'm going freeze sum Athlons with SS rotary at summer
    Machine that does -70c @ 0W load

Please could you make it available as a series of ZIP files? With or without compression doesn't matter, it's just easier to download a few large files than tens of thousands of small files.

I will never forget the power of the Abit NF7-S, back when AMD actually made the best price:performance processors (Good ol' Barton core). I could only afford the Asus A7N8X and 512mb (2x256mb) of PC-3200 memory. I was able to hit 2.4GHz from 1.83GHz and I just loved watching my friends Prescotts and Northwoods get blown away by it. Back then I always dreamed of getting my hands on that board just to show then just how much better that 200MHz would make my machine.

Thank you for that dream Abit.

Wow....so it comes down to this...last few days to see Abit's name out on the web

    Such memories!!

    KA7-100
    KR7
    KT7A
    KG7
    KX7
    NF7

Abit boards rocked back in the day when AMD burst onto the scene and ruled the roost with the orginal Athlon core. I remember when Slot A hit the 1Ghz mark. I was running that CPU on the KA7-100 that came with the first on board Highpoint 100 RAID controller. That was a big deal back then.

That's when Oppainter hit the scene. He was hanging out on Ninja Micros who developed that cool GFD (gold finger device) to allow you to crack the case and overclock the Slot A chips.

I wrote my first review on the KR7A at HardOCP
Then followed with a reveiw of the KG7 and KX7 at Liquid Ninjas
Icrontic forums collapsed about then and most of us moved here to XS. OPP, DDtung, MrIcee, and so many more.
I wrote a NF7 voltage mod guide here on XS, OPP posted up a series of world records, and DDtung starting the Folding group going.

Those were the days. All done when Abit was at the top of it's game and overclocking was becoming a true OEM supported hobby.

Oskar Wu (who was behind all the mobos above) moved to DFI, gave birth to the NF4 Lanparty (awesome mobo!) and it all went down hill from there for Abit. They never recovered.

    Farewell Abit. Thanks for memories.

They recovered after that. Some of their 775 boards were great as well.

It's just how capitalism works. It's not he with the best product it's he with the most cash. Capitalism means only the rich and largest companies survive and the others get crushed no matter how good their product is.

Oh you poor lost soul. Only good/innovative products keep a company alive. That's why Blackberry, SAAB, THQ, Sharp, and Sony are all hurting right now, big corporations that are slowly slipping away. They have not innovated and all the little guys have taken their place with products that meet or exceed customer expectations. If only the rich stayed alive, companies like Google would have never grown to become such the power figure it is today. Also, you cannot forget how important financial backing/funding and marketing can be to the success of a small company. Capitalism is great for those with the drive and passion to become a successful business.

i liked the standalone uGuru thingy

I am pretty sure ABIT was successful in the enthusiast market, but i guess it wasn't big enough to support them.

We can agree to disagree then. Abit had some decent socket 478 boards with the IC7 and IS7, but Abit was already losing ground fast. Most hardcore players followed Oscar to DFI. When Oskar left DFI and the mobo design team, a lot of guys went to EVGA to follow Shamino who helped put EVGA on the map performance wise. Now he's at Asus kicking butt and taking names. But I digress....

Abit was never a volume payer. They relied on soley on their performance niche. When Oskar left and everyone else raised their game, Abit went down hard. They tried to bolster their image with Fatality endorsement, but it didn't hold water with the hardcore crowd. Sure they had some 775 boards that were decent, but it wasn't where the hardcore guys were at. By then is was EVGA (and Shamino's influence), or with the big volume guys like Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte that finally elevated their OC game.

In any event, it's pretty hard to refute the point that losing Oskar Wu to DFI at a time when other brands were mainstreaming their overclocking mobos was the beginning of the end for Abit.

Remember when Abit came out with Softmenu??? Where you could overclock through the BIOS intead of using jumpers, dipswitches and soldering guns. Abit was the first to do that. That was circa 1996. Pretty cool stuff back then.

I still have my first board that allowed for FSB overclocking via the BIOS - surprise surprise, it's an Abit. The BH-6 Before that I had an Intel i1020 which was what taught me the concept of overclocking when I 'd up the jumpers and my Pentium 120 MHz booted at 66*2
