Whats the clearance inside the top panel? only 25mm?
It seems more, and I have a 30mm rad that I'd like to squeeze in there....

just measured 29mm inside the grill area, but the reinforcement around it is only 18mm.
so if your rad is a 2x140 I think you could make it work....
I'll use a 2x120 rad.
those plastic stripes reinforcing the panel will be removed too
