    480 radiator selection help!

    Hey Guys,

So right now I'm pretty much stumped. I've looked at all the data of different rads but I have yet to see one with data of AP-15 push pull at around 1200RPM daily use, if not 800-1200RPM. Will be at 1800rpm when benching and what not, so I want a radiator that will scale with push-pull and fan speed.

The setup will be in a Caselabs TH10 with 4 radiators, 2 for CPU, and 2 for GPU loop. I've looked at the SR-1 good performance at 1200rpm, but I haven't seen any data with push pull. Also looked at the RX rad, but it seems the SR-1 simply beats it at these higher RPM ranges. So this got me thinking, what about the new EK XTX series rad? Or going back to the old trusty Black Ice GTX series. So I'm really stumped.

Top two rads will be push pull for certain, bottom two will be most likely be pull. So maybe SR-1 for the bottom two, and the XTX for the top two?

With that many rads, anything would work well, I would just go with SR-1's

If you really want best performance at 1800 rpm I would go with the gtx's. You'll still get decent performance at 1200 rpm where the AP15s are basically silent and at 1800 they'll beat anything with less fpi. I can't believe the 9 fpi of the SR1 or the 11 of the xtx is going to do much at 1800rpm.

^^Agree with that. ANything above 1500 rpm, and the GTX is still the best.

Awesome! So at around 800-1200rpm push pull with AP-15's I won't loose out on performance all that much on the GTX series right? My Panaflo's at 1300-1500rpm are just a tad too loud for my tastes.

    Yeah that should work
Push pull at 1200 rpm on the gtx and pull on the sr-1 or Ek xtx rads . The GTX series really does scale well with fan speed.. works best over 1500 rpm though

Hello guys I'm also interested in quad rad and for what I can see you recommend the GTX for anything beyond 1500 rpm, right?
I will be using fans @ 1850+ rpm and I was going to get some EK XTX but maybe that was wrong option for my fan configuration?

Higher FPI is betther for high rpm fans, right? The new XTX have 11 fpi that's why I was asking...

    Thanks.

take a look at the coolgate rads over at frozencpu.com. they're the exact same rads as the original feser rads, but with diffferent, better end tanks. the feser rads were the best low-mid speed rads you could get for a while there but now they're unavailable due to manufacturing issues. i'm local to frozencpu, and they're the us distributors of feser IIRC. the owner mark told me that the coolgates are made in the same factory as the feser's were, but under new management. i bought 2 feser 480 rads and both of them were twisted badly out of shape (they were new in box), so i went there for a refund and they showed me the coolgate rads. he held them next to eachother and you could see that they're the same exact radiator except for the end tanks. i have 2 480's in my mh10 and i absolutely love them. excellent product.

I bought a coolgate. It is great, performance is excelent. I had some issues installing the fans, some screw holes were not well alligned but I manage to install all four fand and shrouds

Hello Guys, anyone noticed that he's going for 4x quad rads here?

So, fans running at 800rpm will cool any available home-setup in this configuration - it is like saying, should I inflate the spare-wheel on the Diablo another 1 psi - will it be quicker 0-60

Jeesh Mate, just take whatever you can get your hands on, 4x SR-1's, or 4x GTX's, and run the fans at 800rpm. You will have a super-cool, and super-quiet system, with capacity to run probably 3x the hardware you wil throw at it.

    Enjoy.

There are better options than the gtx360 for fans up to 1200rpm ish..
The gtx 360 stands out at 1800 and above though !

I'm looking at running a 3960X with plans for the SR-X or SR-2, MB and RAM blocks. 7x7970 for the GPU loop. The CPU block may also cool an Aquaero 5 XT as well.

With that said, I want to get temps <10C delta at around 1200rpm.

As for your guyses experience with GT's how does it sound at around undervolted 1200-1300rpm? I would want them to sound less than the Coolermaster R4's at I believe 1400RPM. If I run Push-pull on the GTX at 1200rpm, would I still be getting the best of them? Or should I just go with an XTX and focus more on silent computing ( That's where I want to be at, but 800RPM will almost 100% be my minimum ) And I'll most likely scale to 1400-1500rpm under games.

OH SNAP! I might just have to grab a bunch of AP-14's and AP-15's for both my next build and current build. If only they weren't $18-19 each!

If I may ask, what are the 7 gfx cards for? What size LCD's you plan on having, and how many?

Anyway, a single 480 would be overkill even for the CPU/chipset/mosfets/Aquaero blocks.....

At a guess, he's going to be using them for GPGPU work. Bitcoin would be crazy on that setup.

i might to as my ap-14 & ap-15 at 5v or 12v make about the same amount of noise as my 7200rpm samsung\wd hdd
unlucky enough to get a bad batch even when the 1440\1850 where purchased over a year apart? or maybe my ears can just hear a bearing noise from these fans that some others cant
but then id say my s-flex 1600rpm bearings are silent and others would say they are not
