    The smaller process technology should in theory reduce and temperature readings, but the increase in the number of physical cores in the same dimensions of the remaining heat spreader covers nullifying all the efforts of Intel-reduction process.
    Is this a translation error? I thought the i7-3770K was still a quad core.

Run single-threaded benchmark was at frequencies 5,2-5,3 GHz, and to achieve this frequency is quite simple. But when running multi-threaded processor benchmark is much hotter, and the air cooling with a level of heat can not cope. Stability of multi-threaded benchmark has been achieved at a frequency of 4.8 GHz. In other words, when will the announcement of Ivy Bridge, a benchmark for single-threaded operating frequencies will be at the level of 5,2-5,4 GHz, and the use of multi-threaded tests will fall below 5 GHz.
    Looks to me like it said bench single core at 5.2-5.3Ghz is stable, but only 4.8Ghz when fully loaded because of the heat problem

    Would water cooling help increase speeds? Or does the processor using all the cores just not handle the load heat or no heat ??

    The problem is the area available to transfer the heat, if the heat output and the reduction in contact area to the cooling solution don't scale the exact same way in a die shrink then its very much possible that the shrunk chip suddenly runs hotter even if there is less heat.

    Is that the release stepping he is discussing or some ES ? 10% clock for clock improvement , PCIE 3, higher mem clocks are all expected , but I dont think this will do any better than 2700K at overclocking. I really hope the final stepping hits 4.5 GHz at stock volts on air.

    They don't mention what cooler they used, stock, cheap aftermarket or premium aftermarket, what voltage, what temperature the chip run at, the article is not very good.
