Options for connecting CF 5970s with FC blocks with 1 slot in between

In the process of consolidating my GPU farm. Are there any options out there to connect GPUs with only 1 PCIe slot in between them? I've seen some acetal bridges and whatnot but I have no clue what is the best option. For reference I have a pair of HD 5970s with DangerDen fullcover blocks sitting on a Rampage III Extreme in PCIe slots 1 and 2. I cannot move the cards to the other slots due to other GPUs residing in those slots.

Also, would it make sense to run them in parallel if I have the pumping capacity or would series be better? Same question if there are 4 identical blocks. Also.. crazy question but is there any way to connect full cover blocks if they are in adjacent slots?

edit: Using an MCP655 on the 2nd setting for the time being and I have a Koolance HX-CU1020V. I have 1 5970 hooked up with the cores at 41C and 36C at full load at 950MHz core @ 1.1v. Need to remount to get better contact on the VDDC fets for core 0 as they are sitting around 70C vs 55C but I don't expect the core temps to change much.

    There are the BP's:

As far as parallel versus series, I never found it to matter, but run my GTX580's in parallel with the Swiftech bridge and temps are within a degree of each other.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Now time to find more cards to replace these air-cooled 5870s

Which are actually Fester's...not sure if that design belongs to some other company before them though.

Ordered a pair of the Phobya fittings. Hopefully all goes well when they arrive next week. Won't be taking photos of my ghetto system using homedepot tubing with the radiators, reservoir and pump zip-tied to the shelf supporting this miner
