That's too much. The M5S is almost identical to the Crucial m4, but the m4 is selling for much less.

Addy. Don't know, I'll have been testing a development team.

    Q. Recent price drop or not it worry?
Addy. Welcome if it reduces the difference between the HDD. Increase SSD User.

Red? I thought Ninjas wore black in order to disappear in the shadows.

Didn't anyone ask Plextor's rep about an M5P model? That is what I am interested in.

    Hi all,

Question for Plextor M3 Pro Owners.

Did your drive come in a sealed anti-static baggie or was it not sealed but held with a piece of scotch tape?
I am trying to see if the one I bought (256GB) is brand new or was potentially a return.

    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

The Ninjas are going to be very difficult to get outside of Japan but I'm working on it. The M5S drives (128GB and 256GB) are already on the way.

the Ninja and M5 are both slower then the M3 Pros but yet cost a little more

Yes, it seems they are only faster on mostly useless benchmarks like 4K QD64, and then only by a little. I'd rather have an M3 or M3P than an M5S or Ninja.

It seems to me that Plextor wanted to create a bargain-basement SSD to compete with the the Crucial m4 and Samsung 830, and that is what they did with the M5S. They switched to cheaper flash (IMFT instead of Toshiba toggle flash), kept the older Marvell controller, eliminated the mounting bracket (and the transfer software?), and reduced the warranty. The only way the M5S will be worthwhile is if the street price comes out to be about the same as the Crucial m4. We will have to wait a few months to see where the street price of the M5S settles.

Did anyone notice that the M3 has a 5 year warranty and the M5 has a 3 year warranty? Oh, the irony!

I'm just hoping that Plextor is working on an "M5P" or something that has the new Marvell controller, toggle flash, and a 5 year warranty. That would make sense, because Plextor has taken some criticism in the past that the M3 and the M3P are not differentiated hardware-wise.

M5P but no comments about the controller.

Ninja-256 has increased 100 to 300, NO! 500 for jp marcket.
and laser marking without serial number, unique username marking. ;p

"Also mSATA, Talk with PLEXTOR about future SSD."
-M5P during tuning of the Firmware. wait a little.
-Determined price by the NAND market price a month later.
-Recognizes that the quality of the NAND Micron and Toshiba also identical.
-Enterprise PCIe SSD has now being tested. Release mSATA in the near future.

    Article says :

Yes. I sent the first "S" model of the middle first, I will be coming soon as well "M5 Pro". Different from the firmware. Pro series will take a little more time to tune the firmware

I think that the meaning is that they use the same controller and that "the only difference is the firmware"...

...doesn't make any sense though....M5 series is M3 with IMFT NAND???
