    The price, it burns.

I guess I should give up hoping for a release of a card that was priced like my 4870 was. Dirt cheap and really fast. Oh well.

$599 isn't bad for the XFX Black Edition OC. Unfortunately, the dozen or so cards Newegg received lasted about 10 minutes....

Looks like a decent cooling solution on the XFX Black. The XFX logo on the exhaust grill is a nice touch.

**edit** Just saw a neeto case badge is included too, unfortunately it doesn't look like the extra eyefinity and display adapters are included like the other cards.

I sort of knew that the 4870 launch prices were not going to be the common launch prices from there on out, but it sure was nice getting the (then) top-of-the-line card for under $200 only a week after launch. It's easily been the best card I have ever owned.

    All cards out of stock...

Some still have the add to card button but you can't add them to your cart.

au distributes have put the price up to ~$800 on remaining stock
back when the au$ was worth half the us$ $1000 cards at launch was common place so so some are still happy to spend a bit extra despite the fact that the $ are now close enough to equal
but at least au pc hardware distributes do drop the price back when stock improves a large majority of things sold in au are still priced at twice what they are in the us

Average? $695 is the bare minimum price we are getting raped for in Aus,
Those of us in West Australia, get it even worse if we want to pick up in store....$799...Seriously, what a joke. a $104 bump for what would cost less than $15 to get delivered here.

    Pricegougealicious!

ironically the pre-order cards are £419.. so can guess they will drop to around 400 when decent supply is about!

umart price started at $695 when they had >5 in stock
but apparently when they got to <5 in stock and ordered more the new price went to $740 then $800 soon after
despite the price increase they are now out of stock
pccg is also out of stock with no eta
auspcmarket and centrecom seem to still have stock at ~$750
