Firstly, I apologise. I've been pretty ill recently (major case of the skitz) and then I've been stuck in work until late etc. Was in London last weekend so absolutely no work done then. However! I do have pics to share and 2x orders have been made which should arrive in time for the weekend!

So let me start with a tastey curry...



The power food that my mister feeds me to keep me going and to remind me that diets aren't all that bad when you're sensible about it! (Yes, still dieting for my wedding dress... about 5Kg still to go!)

Then it was time for packages! ...of which www.scan.co.uk deserve a slap for this one. Why?

Yes! That's right! All that wrapping and a £7.99 next day delivery charge from www.scan.co.uk for 1 tiny frickin barb!!! I was meant to have grommets but they were out of stock (or couldn't find the stock) so didn't ship it next day... instead it came the day after and instead of charging £3.99 I was left still charged with £7.99 and actually - thinking about it - I think I'm still due the refund!

Annoyed at this waste I turned to another annoyance... the craptacular phobya rubber shrouds and grommets... these will be the bane of my life for some time. Biggest waste of money and lack of quality control I've ever seen but have to make do with...



*grumbles* and of course I always end up getting my hands stuck together...


A new day... another shop... more goodies!!! Nothing like new shinies to cheer you up!



Some primer, some paint, some dust sheets, some white spirit, some more glue and another £1 scraper!

Yes... I have much more to scrape off! But this time I'll be armed with white spirit!


Now at first, I tried a few different ways and the stuff still didn't want to come off...

So then I let it soak for a while whilst letting it seep in the nooks and crannies!


Ah hah!


Now the horrible stuff practically peels off!

So the next day I decided to get my old friend "Mister Drill" out.. This is all GarethS's fault that I ever got into de-riveting cases! DAMN YOU MAN!!!

I build PC's for my mates quite often..l all the parts usually come from www.scan.co.uk and on this occasion we had a single box for all the components and case! My fiance and I both looked at each other and were convinced I could have some fun with this box..

UPDATE TIME!!!
It's about time I posted something but imagebam are properly peeving me off!!! So I've got some new images to share... and will be looking at doing my own hosting (I've got some hosting equipment and public IP range at home that I can use if I can be bothered to set it up).

I had some packages arrive at work

And a box from Specialtech!!!

The box from Specialtech though was some what chilly?


A quick look inside to find some awesome goodies!!!

...and some frozen liquid *face palm*

A quick call the guys at Specialtech who check with Mick @ Mayhems and confirmation that the fluid should be ok to use once it defrosts but if there's any issues with it or I'm unhappy to do so to send it back for a replacement. Awesome services!

Once I got home (which was late) we decided to have a delicious kebab XD

The guys at ChilledPC even threw in some samples of the other colours I queried! CHEERS GUYS!


Got my (now defrosted) fluid and fan controller out the box


As you can see the fan controller is an official sealed Lamptron branded controller - NOT the fake GVANS brand that has been going around. I know some people were remarking at Specialtech's ultra low price of the controller but it's the real deal (and a real BARGAIN!!!)


Not quite the Koolance blocks I wanted but I need to save some pennies for the new house


And my partner Mike double checking Steve's counting skills, making sure I have all 160 rubber washers XD

Glad you went for the EK blocks, looks much mor stylich and clean compared to the bulky Koolance blocks Hope it fits your build tho.

Now I was worried the grey/black I had might have been the wrong colour, but a quick test spray looked a good match. I'm still not sure about the orange (which needs another coat) but I don't think it's dark enough...


What do you guys think?

My Lamptron FC9 though... I'm very disappointed with quality control... The "white" is cyan and the knobs are squint (I know that may be natural in the male world but in the world of expensive hardware I'd expect it to be perfect!)





As you can see the knobs are squint / stick out unequal distances...

But I did test it on my Kaze and Delta and bar some light ticking (which at a distance you can't hear anyway) it's really smooth on the voltage control. Real test is when I have chains of 6x Kazes on there!!!

...and also - after all the nonsense trying to find a solutiont o dampen my fans my fiance says my kaze's are quiet after enduring overclocking sessions with dual 4000RPM Deltas running at max *face palm*

I'm half wondering if doing the orange in a candy coat might not be a little better. More work involved, but would be ultra wicked and eye-catching.

Candy coat? You mean like UV? I can grab UV orange and do a coat in between?

UV would be dynamic as well.

NOrmally candy coat starts with a silver undercoat (gives a sugary texture), with a translucent layer of color next (correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this can be created by mixing the clear coat paint and color coat paint into the same paint can before spraying). It gives a deep, syrup-y candy feel. If you did it with a good, blendable UV orange for this effect, holy crap that would pop.

But... you might end up licking your computer.

Well this is still going but I'm on hold a bit due to my partner and I buying a new house together and getting married in September. I did manage to wire up 70% of my radiator fans this weekend but I've broken on wire and I can't find my soldering iron to fix it
