    Cheap (Cinema4d) render setup

any advise on what P67 or Z68 board to take? would like it to around 130 euro max..
(here a link of with a over view of the prices in my country)

don’t need it to have any extras and only need 4 sate connectors + 2 usbs + 1 pci-e lane for my vga just want it to be reliable and to being able to oc my chip some. not gowing crossfire of sli in the near future need cpu power not gpu

(i have rearranged the posts since now i only need to figure out the mb.. any help with that would be welcome)

Hello, I’m currently looking to upgrade my computer. Especially to increase its cpu power since I render tons of stuff and the time it takes my E6600 @ 3.4ghz is starting to annoy me. Being a student still I don’t have the cash jet for a high end render setup so it should be a cheap cpu + mb (still got a sufficient power supply, vga and hdd and gone get some 8gb ram any way)

    Sys 1:
    AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
    AMD 990FX mb
    290 euro

    Sys 2:
    AMD FX-8150
    AMD 990FX mb
    335 euro

    Sys 3:
    I7 2600k
    H67 mb
    350 euro

All systems will be cooled on air.. and will have a mild oc so they can run a render 24/7
Witch one to take? (max budget is 350 eu) any advice? (I would like to spend the least amount of money but still get the best bang for my bucks)

I'm certainly feeling option three, but with a 2600 non-K. You won't be overclocking with the H67 chipset (you won't be overclocking a workhorse either, so don't change board) so there's no need to pay the premium for the unlocked multiplier K-series.

I do plan to oc my work horse cpu, my good old E6600 has been running at 3.4 now since 2006 so I don’t see why I should not oc my workhorse. Even if it just gets a 5-20% performance increase it will save me hours of waiting on a render. For example a little movie I did took 120 hours to render with just a 10% increase in performance that would save me 12 hours. So i don’t see a reason why I should not oc my cpu. Besides the 2600k is just 10 euro more expansive then the 2600.

Well then you need to change the motherboard to something using the P67 or Z68 chipset as the H67 doesn't allow overclocking
