I cannot wait for these. I just ordered 3 HIS 7970's. I plan on getting Nickel/Plexi blocks and backplates.

    For the impatient crowd: http://www.ekwaterblocks.com/shop/bl...x0-series.html

84.95- to 94.95€ per block. FC Backplates should be available in 14 days or so.

    Scandalous!
Never, under any circumstances should you be naked near fishing tackle.

Do we need to buy these aswell or can we just use the standard brackets? Not sure if the bracket is part of the stock cooler or somat?

@Tiborr: Please tell me that the standoffs are part of the waterblock and not loose like your other GPU waterblocks....

@Neutronman: Screw-in standoffs are a standard for at least the last 3/4 of the year.

P.S.: I have been playing with Unigine Heaven DX11 today. Nothing serious, just pretesting on EK-FC7970 water block. Clocks are awesome. Need to do physical volt mod for moar juice. I believe 1400MHz isn't too far! :thumb: 10°C colder GPU yields at least 20MHz on the GPU at the same Vgpu.

RAM timings are crappy, ignore it. I'm running two stick of good Powerchip PSCs and two sticks of unknown IC.

Also some P45k single GPU in Vantage with a 3930K CPU at mere 5GHz: http://hwbot.org/submission/2240155_...70_45408_marks

Screw in standoffs..... Music to my ears Tiborr. I hated the damn loose standoffs you guys used in the past....

Been playing with my Sapphire 7970 today with stock cooler and I am able to hit 1250mhz on the core and 1750mhz on the memory with 1.3v. I doubt waterblook will help me oc more, I'm getting hard locks at 1260mhz even with temperatures around 69C...

When will you have stock in place for USA market?

The card scales with cold. Try lowering the voltage, perhaps you're hitting the thermal limit of the GPU at given frequencies/voltage.

Available next week in the States for sure!

I'd say FrozenCPU since they get them quickly. In fact, they have theirs listed but not in stock. You can pre-order them. Don't forget to use this coupon to take 5.1% off your order.

If Jab-Tech would get them at the same time I'd rather order through them since I don't have to wait as long for shipping. But their selection leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately.

I think he meant standoffs which are part of the block. The screw in standoffs tend to break quite easily.

One quick question. Why is there always a delay of a couple of weeks after the launch of a new GPU before we can get the waterblocks for it?

I think the only time I've seen a synchro launch between new GPUs and blocks was for the Nvidia 590. For everything else, we always have to wait a couple of weeks before the blocks are out.

    Just curious why.

I have 4 shiny new Asus 7970 sitting on my desk because there is no waterblocks out for it.

    Hi Levesque,

it all comes down to the availability of the working samples. With 7970 is the situation even worse. We wouldn't dare to send out a product that wasn't extensively tested. Better to be late a week or two than to be sorry I always test the stuff to the maximum, sometimes until the poor thing dies :P

Are the ports spaced far enough apart to accommodate 1/2" compression fittings? It appears to be a "maybe, but it'd be tight" just eyeballing the picture.

Ok. Thank you. I was just curious to the "why". Better be safe then sorry like you said.

But with my 4 Asus 7970 in Quad-Fire on air, it's like there is an airplane in my room. "Talk louder, I can't hear you!"

Desperately waiting for my 4 EK waterblocks...

Levesque, I understand you completely. I have another problem - no way to get two more cards here, everything is sold out

    Two cards with EK-FC7970 @ 1300/1750 in CrossFireX. 53k 3DMV on 5.1GHz Ci7 3930K: http://hwbot.org/submission/2241201_...70_53978_marks

This thing is soooo CPU underpowered I hurts
