    people don't understand that Christianity is a mix of religions to begin with, a mix of traditions, it was the only reason Christianity survived along with the fact that there was no centralized leader until it was established. The whole story of Jesus being born in a barn, you don't get it he wasn't poor or something that he had to be born in a barn, but that is where people used to stay when they were traveling, people would rent out their barns or tiny shacks to travelers on their way to Jerusalem or wherever else. So that story is meant to make it easier for other people to relate and then convert and embrace the religion. The whole thing about Christmas and many other Christian traditions is that they don't necessarily have Christian roots, but who cares.
