the way i see is that 2GB is good for a single screen by typical users. and this lets the card cost ALOT less, since theres less memory, less chip space used, and less power consumed bringing the cost down all over the board.

the 680 should be very good for 1080p gaming for 3 years or so, and if the price does come down to a very good level in the next year, it seems like the next step after the 560ti that can fit the needs of MOST users.

Basically yes, it says that 499€ would be overpriced. Later he clarified that 499€ should be about the price..

Sorry to rain on your parade but you do realize that every tool out there (other than some high level DirectX debuggers) tracks allocation and not actual usage, right?

Also, I'd love for you to actually list those games since the would make an excellent case study when using the proper memory usage tools.

    - Very Expensive
    - Turbo boost for what?
    - low rate in floating point compute....

    This 1000%.

Every time I see someone referencing their so called memory usage I face palm hard. I try to stay out of it as its like arguing with a brick wall most of the time.
GPUZ and Afterburner information where video memory usage is concerned is of little value.

When you have more memory at your dispossal many engines will allocate more data for the sake of caching even if its of no benifit. Its similar to memory caching in Windows and largely why people ed and moaned with the memory usage in Vista in its earlier days without fully understanding it.

You can see the file name by hovering your mouse over the pic, it has the game name like I stated. Whether it's just "allocation" or use is left for you or some other reviewer to test. I can only point to my own experiences where 6950CF simply didn't provide as good performance even though it's technically faster at lower resolutions.
