That was one of the most important features IMO. I also hope SLI is the same and not limited to just the 2 screens.

Sorry if I was unclear, I meant it won't stick to the limit: as far as I am aware, Kepler will have three-display support on a single card.

I'm pretty sure from what I've heard, that Kepler can do 3 monitors on the one card. I also want Nvidia to have more than 2 monitors with SLI. Other than Surround, SLI is 2 max ATM.

Damn so we still wont have a single vid card that can do 120hz in BF3 ...... those BF3 figures dont seem right anyway, I have played on 580 and 7970 and the difference with same settings is larger than 4fps.

Not at Ultra settings, but there is very little difference between that and high.

I beg to differ, my 7970 on ultra was still 10fps higher than my 580 set one notch down from ultra, so had the 580 been on ultra the difference would have been a little greater (tested at 1920x1200 only)

edit - They used single player to benchmark... Yeah, they're trying for repeatability, but lol.

I'm talking about the 120FPS on Ultra settings and a single card. Not the different frame rates between the GTX580 and 7970.

I know that... I'm just pointing out that the small gap between the 7970 and 580 is repeatable by proven testing.

Although there was a relatively short time period between the releases of the chips, Verde and Pitcairn's bring-up, and to some extent qualification, have a reasonable level of leveraging going on so they are a little shortended in terms of initial engineering wafers back to product shipping. Actually setting the product "boundries" for Tahiti happened a while ago, on initial engineering material and few wafers out from the fab; Pitcairn and Verde on the other hand had their product boundries set when Tahiti production starts were already occuring and there is a very quick evolution in terms of understanding things with the new process / chips.

I guess the question you want to ask is whether, now that we know things have evolved, are we going back to re-look at Tahiti....
