If you say so, I bought it right on release, benched it and sold it again before I lost a load on it, I would prefer to buy a used one again if need be and when the price is right. I sold it for $610 so it's hardly a mistake IMO

"Kepler" graphics to be delayed release, but still in the March

Earlier there was news that NVIDIA's "Kepler" card will be officially released in March, the specific time is mid-March. But today, the manufacturers revealed that "Kepler" card to be postponed released.
Allegedly, "Kepler" card release time from the original mid-March, was postponed to the end of March, but it should not be dragged into April, the specific date, is still unable to determine, the extension of reason and shall not known. We hypothesize that this should be the poor and the TSMC 28nm process yields, its direct impact NVIDIA had to postpone the release of "Kepler".

Another we are all concerned "Kepler" graphics performance is still no concrete news, but stronger than the GTX 580 should not be a problem. I hope after this extension, "Kepler" card that can smoothly release, rather than re-bounced

Well this CUDA core amount of 1536 still tells very little about actual performance as the architecture is quite a bit different to previously, for sure one core isn't as efficient as it's been previously so that's the question right now, how efficient one cuda core in GK104 is vs the older generation. Furthermore it's interesting how this affects performance per watt in the direction they're heading. I like the idea of lower clocks than previously 900/950MHz or whatever, should give us overclockers more headroom (of course overclockability could still suck but 700MHz would definitely be on the lower side) :P

EDIT: The only thing that really concerns me is the pricing, I'm sure Nvidia initially targeted this GK104 chip as a great bang for buck $299 card but due to the slight delays of their highend chip as well as the very high pricing of AMD's HD7970/7950, this card will most likely end up 50~$100 expensier than original plans. At this point I'd see below $399 as a welcomed suprise...

Yeah I wary of that too, having the numbers go up that much reeks of marketeer fluff.

If I was to compare numbers for highend Radeon versus Geforce cards at the outlet I currently work at, it certainly has worked with the the stupid loudmouth pseudo-enthusiast set. You know the kind that is so sure they know EVERYTHING and preach aloud about their superb parts selection, but yet there they are; paying someone else through the nose to fix some infantile problem for them. Its always about shader numbers with them and they buy alot of high end stock.

Not entirely. It does (dissapointingly) potentially confirm that GK104 will be the gtx 680. Still unknown if that's not just a photoshop, but if it's true 256 bit mbus on their high end is just pathetic imo

NVIDIA Kepler Power Circuitry Revealed: 300W TDP?

Note by VRZone: "The board in question was manufactured in the third quarter of 2011, meaning that NVIDIA has had Kepler for quite some time"

not 300W tdp .. they just count 6+8pin ... Lets hope they will not make us a series: each days a new info: tomorrow ? the color of the pcb ., next day: the card have a HDMI port.

Actually that was quite common on some rumor sites to break up the news into 5+ different articles, clocks, bus, ram, shaders, launch date, color of the pcb anything you imagine.
Judging by the author of the news, it reached vr-zone too.

Power circuitry has very little to do with TDP. Usually boards are manufactured with plenty of overhead in order to account for overclocking, batch variation, etc.

Anyone else troubled by the fact that there has not been an chipset entry into a beta driver for GK104 yet? Something seems asmiss... If its really going to be released in april we ought to have seen either that or a PCB by now

I'm not worried in the slightest, it will arrive when it arrives in my book, late sucks sure but whether or not a new card is released in a month or three doesn't change anything for me other than curiosity.

We really knew nothing directly related to 570/580 before it was released.

Since it is a new arch. it will most likely need a completely new driver release that will eventually merge with the "legacy" drivers in later releases.

Note- This isn't aimed at you Handrox.

Wow. Early ES does not equal production samples.
The real question is why is it taking so long?
Are they waiting for the process to get a little better or have they had to do a large number of spins. Or a mix of the two.

Charlie said they have had cards in-house for awhile now, I think he said about a month, and hadn't even shown them to briefed AIBs, until today.

I don't recall that we knew exactly what it was once we saw GTX480.

That article is total bull. No way in hell they are powering a GPU by a simple 3-phase design. Possibly all 5 phases are for GPU, and VRzone just missunderstood. Anyway, the article has alot of text, but says very little.
