huum i hope he's wrong or at least, nvidia can come with GK100 soon enough.. But yes, the fact we dont hear about GK100 and only get infos ( well rumors ) about GK104, is enough for give this some credit. Now the question is maybe what can do Nvidia with this gk104, we have seen it is easy to increase clock on the 7970, by large amount, and with an excellent scaling. ofc this come with a cost on TDP...

If the price is right, GK104 can be a killer chip and do lot's of good for nVidia. People should stop always asuming the worst.

    NVIDIA GK107 Details

While NVIDIA's upcoming GK104 / GeForce GTX 670 Ti may be the talk of the rumour mill, we have some details regarding NVIDIA's entry-level Kepler GPU - GK107, including a PCB diagram

A report from Sweclockers claims that
NVIDIA is finally set to release the first
Kepler GPU in March. As expected, first in
line will be GK104 - to be branded as
    GeForce GTX 670 Ti.
The GTX 670 Ti branding was first revealed
by VR-Zone Chinese earlier this month and
    Sweclockers' sources - Taiwanese AIB
partners - confirm the same. They peg the
release date in March after Cebit 2012. This
suggests a release some time between
March 11th and March 31st. The GeForce
GTX 670 Ti is vaguely indicated to have
performance "better than GeForce GTX 580
and Radeon HD 7950", which implies
    average performance somewhere between
    HD 7950 and HD 7970.
Rumours suggest GK104 will bring a
    radically new architecture , with
    specifications including 1536 shaders, 128
TMU, 32 ROP and 2 GB 256-bit memory
GDDR5. Core clock for the top bin, GTX 670
Ti, is expected to be around 950 MHz.
As the nomenclature suggests, GK104 / GTX
670 Ti is more of a successor to the GF114 /
    GTX 560 Ti.The flagship GTX 580 sucessor
is at least half a year away , and will not be
released till Q3 or Q4 2012. Till then, AMD
is expected to hold on to the single GPU
crown with Radeon HD 7970 with the GTX
670 Ti and HD 7950 following behind.

    http://chinese.vr-zone.com/9882/nvid...0-ti-02092012/

If this is true, its rather dissapointing. I doubt the card will be under 400€, overclock as good as amd cards in percentage (def core of 950mhz ) and looks like we dont see competition for 7970 before end of the year.

    ATI.......10 month lead????? That's crazy.

Who remembers nVidias recent comment "We are disappointed with the 7970. We were expecting more"

If true, it is really disappointing. I don't like to wait until the end of the year for a flagship card (> GTX 580 performance). I thought Nvidida was surprised "how slow was AMD 7000 series"...

taking bets on what the name 670 ti means.

670 ti is the full gk104 chip?
670 is the cut down gk104 chip? gk107 is good enough to be 660?
680 chip will be cut down gk100? 690 chip will be full gk100?
no cut down gk100 geforce because they're all going to tesla and quadro? or no full gk100 geforce?
    what else?

crazy town. nvidia is months behind amd/ati again. and we've almost no idea where they're going with this.

Really not surprised with the Nvidia delays. Nvidia usually has a good delay before they release their high-end products. Look to late 2012 for the actual GTX 680 and GTX 690 release.

This, indeed. Considering HardOCP now basically said they have been given an NDA... I'd say we're getting something soon. As far as performance, it's really up to anyone's guess... I am going to put my chips on it being between 7950 and 7970 but at a lower price than the 7950 currently is ($460-500 USD depending on model).

They may not be launching the fastest card first but what they are finally launching should shoe right in where there is a larger market, we need better hardware a good click south of $400.

^^ which is exactly what I thought, I really hope none of these rumours are true, otherwise this could position them a whole generation behind, and that's not good for us buyers in terms of pricing.

I certainly hope that the card they launch is a decent mid-high end model.

Like Flank3r says, they need to get something decent out, otherwise they'll lose the entire year to AMD by the time they manage to get Kepler out of the door.

If the card they're releasing "soonish" is close to the 7950/70 then it should still keep a bit of competion.

According to PHK, GTX 670Ti is same size and same powerconsumption than GTX 560Ti.

Nice if true, well Charlie was also speaking of that size earlier, however power consumption of 170W TDP would be even more positive to me but I'm pretty sure iit could probably be a tiny bit higher, 170W sounds too good, well not impossible but very good from Nvidia perspective. Well to me this little card starts sounding more and more impressive if performance is up there with GTX 580 or in-between HD7950 and HD7970.

I just hope Nvidia is more aggressive on the pricing, I bet they will be launching it at $399 but I'd hope they would go for $349 just to put more pressure on AMD. I think they'd also sell quite a few more cards comparing 350 vs $400.

So the 670 will be a lower power gpu to the 680, not just a clipped 680 like 570 is to 580?? Or will the 680 non-Ti effectively take the place that 570 has in the current range?

The 670 will be based on GK104 which is a smaller and less powerful chip than the GK110. On that, there probably will be the successors to the 570 and 580.

An NDA doesn't mean that the market is getting something soon. It just means press will begin getting information soon.

For example, the Fermi NDA was signed ~6 months before the cards were released.

I'm not saying that will be the case this time but NDA reception is a poor indication of actual release dates.
