anyone test gtx680 vs gtx770 at the same clock speed? they have made some massive improvements in power consumption and noise im just wondering if there is any small performance tweaks in there as well

There is no way to do this.

The issue will become one of memory latency. The 7Gbps modules run at a higher latency to achieve their clock speeds while the 6Gbps modules on the GTX 680 use tighter timings.

Sure there is, nvidia inspector locked to performance level 2 to remove boost/turbo features

Sky said that timing latency in new GTX 770 rams aren't the same. So according to him, it's not possible to only play on frequencies to compare this 2 cards.

sure it is, your timings will be slightly different but ram timings on GPU's are not a huge difference, and if you're worried about it you can do some bandwidth testing to find the point where they match up, which will be about 50-100mhz difference in this case.

They added Tomb Raider to the 7970 bundle. (got the email yesterday)

I don't get the point of testing 680s and 770s at the same speed. Not like anyone will down clock 770s, and it's the same chip. Power usually gets better as revisions climb, but I'm sure there's no appreciable performance difference in the two chips.

The 480s dasa has are a good example, the launch chips were much hotter/more power hungry than the last ones sold.

You are speaking about ram, he's speaking about core speed.. its not like 7GBS will make an huge difference, put an EVGA FTW 680 who run at 1186mhhz vs the 770.. you will get some surprise.

And im sorry outside TPu who get totally incorrect TDP data ( lower of the 680, lol ), all sites are reporting a 20W increase, this in paar with the clock speed of the 680 overclocked to the 770 speed level. ( If Nvidia have set the TDP limit to 230w instead of 195w for the 680 they was a reason ).

I want to see the inside of the block/heatsink, awesome engineering if it really performs as they say.
One has to wonder if they had to sacrifice some cooling performance with this hybrid design.

Now if only they'd done that for some other really hot cards that have reliability issues due to poor heatsink design and QC..

Yeah nothing up as of yet however they did say it was Copper on the inside (thank God) but they did also mention Aluminium on the outside, so not sure how that would work unless there's something in between?

Fun how GPU-Z shows your 780 as 780 Ti when you flash a modded vBIOS with higher PT and higher Clocks.

Maybe the changes on the Ti aren't even as big as most users out there expect
