If you want to nitpick that much, at least do it right. The only thing AMD did with the launch of the 6000 series was to retire the ATI brand, for marketing reasons not related to the chips. Might as well count every chip since 2006 as AMD, because that's when AMD bought ATI.
Or we can cut the crap, since all of us already understood the original comment: Pitcairn and Cape Verde are more energy efficient than GK104, and GK104 itself is wonderful in that regard when you compare it to previous NV chips.
Friends shouldn't let friends use Windows 7 until Microsoft fixes Windows Explorer (link)
Someone needs to leak those drivers.
Blah, now the GTX 670. ::rolls eyes::
T-minus four months until we hear/read some news about the REAL beast...

Way too early to say the Nvidia chips is inferior efficiency wise. With only one chip out and one version of it, it is too much to put a blanket statement and say Nvidia chips(or the architecture in general) loses efficiency wise. I think you should wait for the whole line up to say this because people usually compared efficiency based on performance class and price class. The 7870 is in a much lower class of performance and lower chips end chips have always had better efficiency than higher end ones. Against its direct competitor, the gtx 680 is more efficient than a 7970 in both size, heat and energy consumption. Or next time be more specific and say that the gk104 loses in efficiency to pitcairns.
Also there isn't that much of a delta in terms of efficiency. In some reviews, the 7870 and gtx 680 are very close for performance per watt, with the gtx 680 taking the nod in this particular review. (I will agree that the 7870 tends to be more efficient, but it is not by that much)

We should looks for the 7870s competitor before we say nvidia's chips. because most people looking to buy a gtx 680 class videocard are going to be comparing gtx 680s and 7970s power efficiency if they are looking at that metric. Also, like tahati, the scaled down version of nvidia's chip might be more efficient.

Thanks Monstru ..
Its surprising to see sometimes the min fps, higher of 2x 680... ( Batman AC for the example ).
One question anyway ? what was the max clock speed under turbo ? ...

If you've got questions....post away!
It goes past 1050MHz in most games.
Anyway, for me remembering them was the best part

Far out that Windforce is huge.
Begs the question though, for the price and size of that thing, why not just get a non-reference 680? =/

That PCB is just amazingly small.. The only reason Nvidia went with a blower style fan to extend the card 3+ inches is most likely they looked at what the card looked like with a normal HSF on the GPU and said "lol..wut... no one will pay $399 for this.. we gotta make it look bigger!"
I would also speculate the PCB on the 680 was designed with the big daddy Kepler in mind and after seeing the 7900 release, the just put the GK104 GPU on there instead even thou the PCB was huge overkill for that particular chip.
