How to request ES CPUs from Intel

A friend of mine is a good clocker and holds some of the world records with intel cpu for frequency with that CPU, but he has always clocked retail batches. How can he request an ES CPU from the newer models for OC ?

We have only 2 hardware sites/magazines in our country and both got either 3960x ES or 3930K ES. Big friends of intel get a lot of batches to choose from and then return the other ones. Many overclockers have ES CPU i just like to know who should my friend write to/ask about that.

That explains where my trays upon trays of SB-E CPUs went to. I noticed the shipment was a bit light this month and was wondering who I'd have to threaten. Now I know and am booking a flight to SFO. See you in a few hours Jake..

A big thing is going to trade shows and meeting people in person. There is no substitute for shaking someones hand, and then telling them : "give me some free "

seriously though if he has a site or reviews stuff, he should attempt to meet them in person, makes things happen!

But at the same time, be aware that marketing people will tell you anything you wanna hear. Don't believe any of their offers/promises until the parcel is in your hands.

but i just don't see it happening.. you have to work for a rep that has connections to intel (other hw companies) or are a big shot reviewer i think

i'm neither.. i'm just a kid with to much time on his hands playing with computers lol

    Ask Paypal for sponsorship

Imo, the best way is to buy the cpu and be independent

And mostly if ever you receive a parcel for reviewing it will have to be send back after a while... till now only good ES I know off are the rare 6.5Ghz 990X ones... though the current ES 3960X at 5.4 is not bad either...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

leeghoofd is right, ES isnt all its cracked up to be,

the only good ES i can think of going back is 980X ES that clocked monster for 32m, 990X ES is ok but never could do good 32m (so who cares right?)

other than that retail has always won, but please correct me if im wrong

Isn't Clarkdale ES pretty strong? (for Clarkdale) Well... it's good for 2x CPU wPrime and PCM05

Beat me to the punch. There were also some monster ES C0/C1 Bloomfield chips that D0 eventually blew away. SB/SB-E are chips where being able to bin a few trays of ES chips would be helpful due to it being an extreme numbers game.

You can buy em off ebay lol. But seriously with SBe and SB ES aren't as good as retail in most cases. with Gulftown they definitely were better, but Retails seem to be much better in clocking now, at least with SB.

You really don't ask for ES processors they offer them to you, and you have to send them back, even when you review for a big website.

That is really odd indeed, you provide really good PR, you are the hero of a full continent, the work you do in South America is amazing.

Sorry if I seem rude, but did you ask one of your partners if they can provide you the right contact in Intel? It should be highly possible for you. Keep up the good work.

If you are well-known enough, Intel will contact you. Otherwise, good luck.
