Ultra low profile 1.35v 30nm DDR3 capable of 2400MHz. Perfect for SFF builds.

    EDIT: Capable of 2800MHz

Hello everyone. I have some serious news to share, hopefully many of you will find this of value. As far as I am aware, this memory just took the crown for price: performance ratio.

I discovered this little gem(Made by Samsung) based on a 30nm manufacturing process that is capable of 2400MHz.
    It is currently available @ Newegg @ $55 for 8gb (2x 4gb)

    Newegg

    2800MHz

Fits in the tightest of spaces

Additional images courtesy of XS member OC Nub:

OC Nub has confirmed that these sticks can hit 2400MHz at 11-11-11-28 timings . No confirmation on 24/7 stability yet. Although 2133MHz seems to be perfectly stable from what I have seen.

Please feel free to discuss and provide input.

    Thank you for reading,
    Drew

I'm not sure what else the reviewer tested with, but wPrime does not require even a little bit of memory stability....
He did do the remainder of the testing at "Overclocked Samsung RAM 2×4 GB @ 2000MHz 9-9-9-24-1t 1.55 V" which included SuperPI 32M.

That probably is a much better representation of what the memory is capable of for a daily driver (not too shabby at all too ).

Also, you should not be concerned with heat unless you are planning to run them at 1.7V or more under heavy load all the time.....putting heatsinks on memory is pretty pointless, and some tests have shown that it tends to trap in heat more than dissapate it on cheap heatspreaders :-/

    Greatly appreciated.

    1. I would be more than happy running @ 2000MHz. Although I will still try to run 2400MHz just to see if I can find 24/7 stability or even for some benchmark usage.
    2. Yeah, I definitely won't be pushing 1.7v.
    3. Good to know.

    Thank you miahallen.

I also ordered 2 kits, should be here tomorrow. A strong fan should work good enough for cooling.

Please post your results with them, Ill do the same.

Sounds good, I won't have the build up and running until sometime around late January but I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Arctic Cooling Ram Cooling ( AC-RC ) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186050 should be plenty of cooling for those. You can touch the chips while they are running superpi 32M to see if they are hot or not. If they are not too hot for your finger then there is nothing to worry about.

Just bought the 1333mhz c9 version on a hunch. Its 30nm 1.35v as well so I figure theyre near as dammit the same.

Amazon.com international shipped. Its the only one of the 30nm available international on Amazon (literally - now temporarily out of stock). Total cost including tax and shipping (due between 27th december and 9th jan) was £48.

Thanks for the thread - but seriously dont bother with ramsinks .

Yeah you need to wait for amazon to get it back in stock. Its defaulting to the next available marketplace seller at the moment. I bought the last stick sold by amazon themselves and its only amazon global sales that will allow international shipping. Im keeping my eye on it cos I want 16gb so i'll post up when/if they come back in stock. Strange that its only this kit you can buy on amazon global too, not the single sticks or the 1600mhz sticks.

    Remember 4gb sticks = 30nm and 2gb sticks = 40nm so dont buy a 4gb kit by mistake.

Yeah. I would go for 8GB kit (2x4gb modules). It is in stock, but for warranty matters amazon doesn't ship it internationally to Italy .

Think youre misunderstanding . It has to be in stock by amazon itself to be able to be shipped internationally. At the moment its only in stock at tigerdirect and circuitcity so it wont allow any international shipping. I get the same message as you see if I try and order it now as its not an order fulfilled by Amazon .

If you wait until Amazon have them back in stock to ship direct you should be able to order .

Single 1333mhz 4gb sticks ship internationally from here to all countries. Never used them before, found via google. Theyre showing the 8gb 1600mhz kit too. Again, this is not a store recommendation, check them out yourself first . You can use paypal though for some peace of mind.

I have been playing around with this memory a little more. Im unable to boot with c8 at 1866 or above using 16gb, but so far they will do 1600mhz 8-8-8 at 1.35v, stock voltage, 1866 9-9-9, 2000 9-9-9 1.4v, 2133 10-10-10 1.38v, and 2400 11-11-11 1.53v. Have been using mostly HyperPI to test.

HyperPi at 2133 1.38v set in bios.

Yeah, as I said its ONLY the 1333mhz kit thats in amazon global. The 1600mhz kit is sold by amazon but not in the global program - god only knows why? Id be shocked if it mattered though, very unlikely to be different bins especially given the timing difference between the kits. Guess ill tell you for sure when mine arrive (2nd week jan).

So far it looks like the best 4GB DIMMs are made by Samsung, with IC HCH9 40nm/30nm.

How to distinguish 40nm vs 30nm: K4B2G0846C/D the last character is the die revision - 40nm is rev C, and 30nm is rev D.

    Overclockability:

    Typical 30nm:

    1600 7-8-8
    1866 8-9-9
    2133 9-10-10

    Typical 40nm:

    1600 7-8-8
    1866 8-10-9
    2133 9-11-10

These Samsung gems have been very popular in Asia for a while, however it is a pity that it's extremely hard to buy them in the EU (or perhaps even in the US).
