15K 3D Mark 2011 - first touch with Asus Rampage IV Extreme + 2x 580 Matrix Platinum

Finally had the possibility to test X79 myself - thanks to ASUS I could test that awesome Rampage IV Extreme and Matrix Platinum cards

After getting used to it we got out some good scores in just a few hours under LN2. Stummerwinter did 3rd place in 3DM03 single card with 1650/1375 - I was staying on air for the cards

Time was as always not enough - I had a party the day before and wasn't really doing well on saturday...

So just a quick run with not much pre-testing or tweaking on sunday afternoon...

The Rampage IV Extreme has so much to discover, I think we spent 2 or 3 hours with the OC-Key functions and simply enjoyed scrolling bios settings

Here is a quick 15K in 3D Mark 2011 SLI - currently ranked 19th in SLI - surely some room for tweaking, specially the Physik score seems to depend on mem very hard. We used bad rams shortly and got only 13K for that test with RAM below 1000MHZ Arne got close to 18.8k iirc with 3 cards but we had some strange performance issues after the first runs and were dropped backed to ~17.5k - needs more testing...



Vantage was also nice already - but I need to spent some more time with it first...need to get my own CPU now and just ordered 3930K

Interesting Physics score! It's the second time I see this high efficiency (first time was Booj) and no one seems to know what's up (or no one wants to share). Fyi, the boys at asus HQ got 18.7k with 5600+ and DDR3-2500 C7, you got 18.7k with 5300 and 2133 C8. 17.5k seems in line with what everyone else is getting.

Did you change anything when performance dropped?

Not to mix things up:

Arne had an overall score of ~18.5K or .8 with 3 cards and the dropped back to ~17.5k but due to missing GPU-Power in GameTests...one card maybe got to hot or something else, we couldn't figure that out. Need to check screens first...

Bringing up and down the Physik score was simple:

we had hypers (MGH-E iirc) which wouldn't run 2133 so we choose 1866 with 7-8-7 fast subs - 13k Physik Score
so sunday around a time were I usually wanted to leave I got some PSC out of my car, loaded tight psc profile, adjustet 8-10-8 just to be sure and iirc optimzed trfc and there we had that good Physik score...

I don't think tight psc template can give that kind of boost. Just compare your run to the 4-way one of Shamino. It's +/_ same physics score: 5400 2133CL8-10-8 vs 5650 2500CL7-11-7. With your efficiency, Sham/Nick should be close to 20k physics =)

You know how good I am - there was no magic in that I don't have a clue about 11 I just loaded "shamino profile" in the bios, tight psc profile, 54x100 and went for it ^^ 4x2 GB (Exceleram and SuperTalent Kit mixed together)

Can you try it? Or anyone else willing to try? I am missing a CPU atm

Memory is single/double sided ?

As we have been in the "Pfalz" which is known for it's very good whine the guys had some of this.
I didn't want to drink anything except water and apple-juice because of way too much beer on a company party the night before ^^
also I drove ~1900km during the week and another 620km to get back home from stuwi - we need physical beaming-technology -.-

We also tested BBSE, just loaded Elpida Hyper Profile, changed TRCD, load Extreme profile, readjust the voltages and thats all.
What a pity we didn't manage to get a decent Tri SLI Score...

Your right for Physics it alot depend with Mem clock and timing, about two week on i tried to play with SLI, 3Ways, 4Ways prepare for LN2 benching
and i meet alot of performance issues on 3D11 and Vantage. Well one more thinking is can help me to insure for performance by put more psu,
on first tried i only used two psu for 3ways and score it not good then i add one more psu and my score is increase from around 16k to 19k

Which PSUs did you use zolkorn?
I am not sure if this would help on our tri sli issue.
We used one Corsair 1200 (one Card + System) and one Enermax 1250 (two Cards)

Viss, that 2133CL7-7-7 run is completely bugged. I get these Physics scores with 4500MHz CPU:

- DDR3-1600CL9-9-9 => 14243
- DDR3-1600CL9-11-9 => 14184
- DDR3-1866CL9-11-9 => 14505
- DDR3-2133CL11-12-11 => 14763

Normal score with 5400 CPU is around 17.3K if you have good memory. If you have great memory, it can be even higher. But SoF is hitting 18.7K with 5400 CPU and 2133CL8-10-8 ...

interesting information about the PSUs...I am waiting for my retail CPU which might take until january due to C2 stepping
