    New Youtube Design

    Anyone seen youtube's latest design? The content density is so low, that on my main page, or while searching, I can only see about 4-5 videos at a time before I need to scroll.

    Google/YouTube really need to stop catering to the mobile touch-screen device market. It's killing the user experience for PCs.

    Browsing content on youtube just gets more and more silly. I hate that now I can't delete videos out of that homepage feed to only see what I have left to watch from my subscribers. It wants me to wade through everything now.

    however, I do like making content for youtube.
    i7 2600k, 8GB 1866Mhz DDR3, GTX560 Ti, Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4, CM Cosmos 1000 Case, and some green crap everywhere.

    I see that they made it to not fill the screen but just have this narrow little thing in the middle. So I have 1920 pixels width but only 980 are used by the site. That's just great. Heck even the crappiest laptops these days are 1366 wide, at least fill it out a bit since the 768 high isn't all that much.

    Google, keep the skinny narrow look for the mobile version of the site only and leave the full size site alone.

    agreed. now everything is gonna be one of those "should be great for everyone" designs, which means it's only good for a handful of smartphone users.

    even the new channel look is lacking in a lot of ways. Here's an example of mine (you don't have to watch any videos, just using it as an example)

    Hmm I don't have a problem with that, because i normally search for the videos I watch there O.o but yeah, I'll admit that youtube has become more and more crappy, both with the design and service.

    2560x1600 probably, its what 95% of 30's are.

    And yeah, websites that limit everything to ~1024x768 are horrible..

    At the moment you can go to http://www.youtube.com/home for the old home page. I'm not sure how long before they remove/fix that.

    I'm at 27" with 2560x1440 and I absolutely hate this new layout and design for Youtube.

    I usually just want my subscriptions and now I see 8 of them one above the other and then have the start scrolling!

    They use to group them by the maker. This is a stupid design... ugh.

    Aesthetically, the new layout is ok, but there is not much media "above the fold" (in the initial home view of the page). Heck you have to scroll to view all of the menu items on the left side! I think it would almost be easier if they just had the top navigation, cut out, or made the huge ad about 1/5 the size, and got rid of the other garbage. If you hover over the little ad thing, 1/2 of the hovers are duplicates. Gah, you'd think if people had the money to design something, they could make it better. But then time and again these sites fail to impress me... And why wouldn't they try to work on a simple flow layout, instead of having fixed size stuff? you could fit a ton more content onto the page with that.

    My main concern about the new design is the features or more videos to the right you cant even see the tittle of the videos all cramped up on the right.... you dont know what you are clicking on till you do...
