Thanks Hiwa. Do you know what volts you need for that on X58? My 2000 7-8-7 GT's will do it right at 1.72V... might have hope on X79 under 1.95V?

if we ever see any 5.8-6ghz sb-e like we with sandy bridge.. any chance they can challenge any 2d WR? Or are they similar/same in performance as sandy bridge in regards to 2d?

Also hiwa.. how variable is imc on these? is 2500mhz like you have here super rare? or what? lol.. can't afford to bin these like i bin 2600ks

they are slower than SB so i think no 2D WR with this chips maybe next year with Ivy we can see some 01/03/05 and 2d bench again.
seems retails are good, 2400 is normal on them, i can't say nothing i tried 2 3930k chips both +2500, but +2550 is not easy IMC on 3133 and 3134 batch cpus.

latency is higher since there is more l3 cache than sb, also it seems like 2400-2500 should be doable with most retails.

I am just waiting for my cpu now, everything else is here

For X79 what IC is recommended ? I have to choose between Elpida BDBG or hynix. I need to reach 2400 mhz.
