This one at newegg looks like really good bang for the buck. any others I should be made aware of?

    Thanks guys,
Boy that info was old. As am I. Currently my kids have taken over my desktops. They are both sporting matching GTX1080's. Last Christmas I got everyone Oculuses and thus GTX1080's. My eldest is some sort of CSGO champion gold label something or other. Me I work and shoot real guns. Build Comps as needed.

What are the pros and cons of LED backlit LCD monitors?

So far looking at there three http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...236%2D052%2DTS

I like the middle one for the fact of NO build in crappy speakers that I never use anyways. Plus it is the only LED baCKLIT ONE. Will probably look again tomorrow and order on Cyber Monday.

I don't know if you have bought a new one yet, but here goes: Go-go thread Resurrection!

If you don't mind paying a little more than the ASUS, might I suggest this one instead?
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=Dell%20U2412M
It is also LED backlit, but with an e-IPS panel, 1920x1200 resolution and a Display-Port instead of an HDMI port.
Tftcentral.co.uk has some really nice things to say about it once it is calibrated (there is an ICC profile for it on their homepage):

I just recently got two of these, and when using the ICC profile from TFTcentral, they are pretty much spot on for gamma and color-accuracy in the tests I have available (CLTest first and foremost, I do not have access to professional equipment).

I just picked up this monitor for $299 and applied Tftcentral's ICC profile and have to say I'm absolutely blown away by this monitor. Over the past two years I've bought a few other recommended monitors such as Asus, LG and Samsung to replace my older Dell 2407 but ended up returning all of them as I could never get them to look nearly as good as my Dell. I ended up retiring my 2407 to my girlfriend. Anyone that's on the fence about this monitor shouldn't hesitate, it's stunning.....
