Future 30 Inch Monitors? Quick before i buy!

Hey guys, just thinking of buying a U3011 dell monitor. Really wanting to get a 30 inch IPS, but i am getting cold feet, very concerned that there may be a new line of 30 inchers coming out that i am not aware of...with some type of technological advance or whatever. really concerned as this is the most i will have spent on any single component, ever!

so to anyones knowledge, is there any new 30 inchers on the horizon? from dell or otherwise?

Well, current 30's already nice enough. I actually even liked 3008WFP more than 3011

Be careful! I bought 1 30" monitor... they breed like rabbits. I bought a 2nd this year and might get a third in 2012.

4K monitors cost a heck of a lot (Eizo 36.4" 4K runs $36,000), so 1600p will be the highest end for some time. Also remember that you'll probably need SLI/Crossfire to run it if you have demanding games.
BP ruined my dinner and my region. (yep, I'm still pissed!)

    Current Rig: i7 2600K @ 5ghz, GTX 690 WC'd , MIVE, 840 pro 256gb / Corsair Force 3 GT 240gb SSD

If you aren't a 16:9 hater you could look at the new Samsung PLS 27" panels. They've been getting pretty decent reviews so far.

    Thumbs up

    Just chiming in here ...

Bought a Dell U3011 two weeks a go and have no regrets, its the dogs dangle bits and I'm over the moon with it.

One of the reasons I decided to push this purchase ahead (because I'm not loaded either) was because its probably the last of the 16:10's to be produced in this size (any size really) and that extra vertical real estate for what I do really matters ... I've tried 16:9 ratio before and although its perfect for cinema films its not necessarily perfect for all things PC usage wise.

But honestly, this monitor is a real treat on the eyes, not just the size and sharpness at 2560 x 1600, but its colour depth and presence, the guarantee is second to none too.

OP: if you are still considering, treat yourself, you only live once

YOu just can't go wrong with 30". I never have regretted buying my Samsung 305T. Needed a little work but still going strong. Both Dells are sweet..I like the W as well. And, the 27" Sammy is great as well..... (my benchin monitor)
