Well I had planned on testing 3-way but my 3rd GPU had to be sent for RMA. Once I get it back I can do the runs NP. I have a P67 FTW here with NF200 to compare with.

PS. I know you tested SLI, but with two graphics I had almost forgranted that it would be the same...

Trying some LinX on the new rig. I havent run it in a long time, but this chip just doesnt want to run hot so I thought maybe LinX would heat things up. I do have AC on the rad, but my 2600k wouldnt run close this cool in LinX or Blend. Im guessing maybe RealTemp needs an update, but the Asus software reads CPU temp about the same as RealTemp. W7-64 SP1 .

    Thanks.
Highest core in AIDA64 is 64c, with no AC so still a cool running chip.

Any idea what "CPU Package" is regarding temps? My chip has a package

Not 100% sure but I would guess CPU Package means Tcase which is the temp at the center of the CPU IHS. Dont worry about that though, go by temp of the cores.

Great review! The best on the net thus far

Well done putting the board through it's paces and sharing some of the OC details. Very helpful.
And a big thanks for pushing me in the right direction on my mobo thread. My 3960X retail is humming along at 5Ghz at just over 1.4v and this RIVE is rock solid. I'm going to spend weeks having fun tweaking this board out.

I was able to run the Hypers at 2133c8 1.66v after disabling HT. It wont make it into windows with 6c12t with the same voltage settings, but ran a few passes of LinX with no issues with HT disabled.

Thanks mdzcpa, glad to hear you got your 5Ghz.

I see my review has been removed from the thread so for others that may be interested in reading it head over to Hardware Canucks and it is on the main page.

EDIT - Created master RIVE thread, post in there plz http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...70#post5001170

tested very fast some solution today(8gb PSC, and 16GB 2400 C9 Hynix), very nice IMC on this chip can hit easy 2570 and pass 8m on air

Hiwa is 5.5 the mhz limit where voltage doesnt help anymore? In my experience all more cold would do is allow for cpu intensive benchmarks at clocks closer to the CPU max. Same deal as SB.

For example the limit on the chip Im running is 5.48 and you cant pass that no matter what.

no it wasn't the limit first time i load os at -5 or so and i hitted 5521 and run wprime at same freq passed but buggy run, then i never could load os lower than 5c, i didn't try higher than 1.60 caz wasn't stable even at 5500, i think with lower temp this can fly but i really don't care about high cpu freq i care about IMC for my memory testing.
