    Some OC Tips/Tricks:
    • LLC is strongest at 0%(0.0mohm) and weakest at 100%(1mohm), 60% of 0.6mohm is the best IMO, the 0% is a bit harsh. 80% or 0.8mohm is the Intel stock loadline slope. Think of the mohm as the slope of the vcore, with voltage on the y axis and load on the x-axis, so slope of 0 is a straight line, and the greater the slope the more drop in voltage compared to load.
    • System Agent and QPI/VTT help with OCing memory
    • CPU PWM frequency goes from 0khz-2500khz, the real range for actual application is 0khz-500khz
    • The PWM options like extreme perf, or balance are referring to balance of temperature and load
    • max VCC for SBe is 1.4v, but SVID goes to 1.52v, so try to keep voltage as low as you can, but CPUs will die above 1.7v
    • System Agent and QPI/VTT are cleared upto 1.4v each in the new Intel spec, but keep them under 1.35v
    • If you don't know what to do with the PWm settings, just leave them on auto, the board does a good job of self regulation of the settings
    • Profiles are in the end of the BIOS on the save& Exit screen

Glad to see it will be available very soon, I wish it was available a couple days ago. I bought the R4E because it seemed like the best option at the moment. I look forward to seeing results with the UD7, I may still get one.

Edit: I really hope the UD7 turns out to be a good board. After a few hours playing with the r4e, I really dont like the asus board at all.

need to tweak a bit more, if you have this board, toss a fan over the VR area if you are going to raise the PWm freq.

Help!I have now a ud7 and a processr which i need to return in a couple of days.I tried setting up the system and i am getting post code 6A. I need to press the clear cmos for several time before it can boot. I was able to install windows and utilities but encountered issue on bios flashing, It will hang during erase so when i press the reset button it will recover. To be able to flash it to the latest beta bios, what i have done was boot using the backup bios then flash it which is sucessful. then when I tried booting again in the main bios and tried flashing to the latest beta, it hang, so when i press the reset the recovery kicks in and the main bios was updated to f3n. I initially thought that having the latest bios in main will fix the issue but still i am stuck with post code 6A. Sometimes it will stop posting while some time it will have endless reboots. I have tried replacing my power supply 2x and ram 3x but still the same. Any idea how to get away with this 6a issue?

Same thing happened when i used @BIOS to flash F3N, it failed to write the BIOS and i used its backup. So lesson learned, don't use @BIOS, use the QFlash utility in BIOS. Format a USB drive in FAT32, and pop the BIOS rom on there, and flash it. Easy, and it doesn't fail.

Also try F3, F3N isn't the best, F3K is better. as a beta.

another thing i observe... I hope its just me i have tried running the usual bench like 3dm's, spi's and cinebench .. how come ud3 with f4o is faster in both stock and oc. weird also is ud3 can only do OC on thr same chip @ 4.5ghz while the ud7 is at 46 multi with 102 bclk which is around 4.69ghz. Repeated the test and still the ud3 gets better score.

on the 6A issue, still exisiting intermittently. Am hoping that this is a chip issue and not board issue.

Try this, disable C1E, and boot into windows and just use the multiplier button to raise the multiplier, that way there is no issue with C1E and maybe less efficiency.

    Did you update to F3?

yea, if not then its just some tweaking and GB should fix it up. What is different is that F3 is the final BIOS just released, F4 for the UD3 and F5 for the G1 Assassin, might show how mature and tweaked each board is.

Too bad I dont have the processor anymore. I will be borrowing new processor next week. Heres the the spi 1M and 32M of the ud7. No tweak yet just run it after boot-up. Hopefully I can play with the next processor for more than 1 week as no retail processor available yet

How does the board clock Sin? I am debating on getting this board and trying another 3930k (this one clocks good on low vcore but imc is crap) or getting the maximus 4 extreme and trying my luck with another SB chip, 2700k.

Is it full of bugs/issues like p67/z68 gigabyte boards were, or did they get it right? You can PM me if its bad news, I know you do Giga reviews lol.

    Thanks

Not the same as GB LGA1155, there aren't any random reboot loops or memory multi's not working. On the upside LLC works well, and the BIOS doesn't seem to corrupt like LGA1155 lol. Um but its not perfect, and GB seems to understand that, they release a new beta every few days.

As far as dividers, the BLCk dividers might need some fine tuning, but you can run them just fine like with 100x1.25 or 90x167 should work. The memory dividers work, everything basic that should work does work, but like C1E having to be enabled is an issue with OCing, or else your settings wont stick. But that is the beauty of the UD7, those buttons work in real time without any lag, you can press up 12 times and the multiplier will increase 12 times lol, even without C1E enabled, so that is how i get around that to bench.

What do you want the board for? OC bench? subzero OC? 24/7?

Thanks Sin. I want to use it to bench some, but also just to try it because I really like the looks lol. I was concerned after all the problems with 1155 to even try another Gigabyte board.

Gigabyte really needs to be on top of the support for these new boards, they lost a lot of long time loyal customers to Asus after p67 issues.
