    End of Era for TCMagazine

    http://www.tcmagazine.com/tcm/news/misc/41877/end-era

The thing about eras is that they inevitably end. The thing about eras ending is that it inevitably sucks when they do.

For the past 14 years, we have been providing our community with tech news and downloads, reviews and tutorials. Through these 14 years, largely due to the expertise and contacts acquired in our news publishing adventures, we were fortunate enough to branch out into several exciting new fields. BannerConnect , Exigo Media and InterWave are but three of the enterprises that TechConnect Magazine made possible over the years.

It is with a heavy heart that we take the decision to pull the plug on the old dog. TCM has been a part of our professional and private lives for longer than most people remain married, but it's time to finally leave its comfortable nest, and take flight with the enterprises it helped create.

Access to TechConnect Magazine will be disabled as of December first, 2011. After that, all traffic will be redirected to GameConnect . We will be investing all our energy into making InterWave and GameConnect as significant as TCM was, for the gaming crowd and generation, and hopefully you'll come check in on us from time to time.

Thank you for your visits, comments and contributions - it's been a fantastic 14 years.

so they decided to quit the hyper-competitive hardware news business and enter the... games news business. euh?

    RIP TCM

    greetings http://www.gameconnect.net/ ?

maybe they secretly want to be game developers and will find success with that on their other interwhatever site.

There's more bribing to be done in game news than there is in hardware news???

Do they really want to be associated with "gamrconnect"? Names are too close.

Is a shame when one of the news sites goes down, especially after 14 years
This means that there is now a slight statistical increase in news being reported from the likes of Semi-Accurate, and Fudzilla (both sites I try to avoid due to certain fabrication and disinformation).

Sad to say that I rarely buy print computer magazines these days. The best of them are much better researched and written than the stuff on almost all of the tech blogs, but £5-8 struggles to compete with free especially when I'm casually reading on the way to work.
Core i7 920, Gigabyte x58-USB3, Radeon 5850 [CF coming soon], 6GB OCZ Platinum, Corsair 40GB Force, 3x 2TB Spinpoint F4, Silverstone OP1000, Dell XPS Studio Case.

    Alienware M11x.
