About a week a ago i got an email from AMD Nordic and they asked if i want to have FX-8150 sample for overlocking, and i wasnt considered for long!
So, thanks to AMD Nordic for providing me this AMD FX-8150 sample!
From the beginning this has been like a driving a bike, overclocking is same easy that i get used to with Phenom II's.
All results are done with a mediocre watercooling setup, including following parts:
Aquacomputer Kryos HF (had to wait AMD brackets about an week.. , spare part..)
Swiftech MCP35X
Phobya G-Changer
EK-FC580 DCII (cpu and gpu on same circuit)
Hardware:
AMD FX-8150
Asus Crosshair V Formula
Asus GTX 580 DCII
G.Skill Ripjaws-X
Corsair HX1000
Dimastech Easy V2.5 benchtable
While testing ambient temperature was all the time between 23-24 degrees celcius.
And here some results, first quick prime95 test to show how high 24/7 clocks we can achieve with these:
And other benchmarks:
I was surprised how well these FX's overclock! After intel launched sandy bridge, i havent even touched to AMD, so this was definitely great experience!
Too bad that single core performance isn't that good, usually losing to Phenom II. But anyway, there is potential in this Bulldozer architecture, it just need more optimizing.
Once again, ty AMD Nordic, and thank you for reading! I hope you liked!
