Well, I've got the new compressor and oil separator, now I just need to accumulate some $$ to start building... Long story...

I've been relentlessly redesigning it (as you can see by my new thread) to keep myself from impulsively buying materials...

On a side note, I analyzed my folks' power bill and your usage doesn't look that unrealistic to me anymore... Still.... 44c....
    Regards, Stew.....

Splave im not really building anymore but it shouldnt have a dead compressor this soon.
If you dont have my number send me a pm and ill give it to you. That said the clicking and not starting sound like the compressor has frozen which is odd but possible.

    Hey Scott!

Man, like old home week here lol

I just bought a new unit from Ron too, but mine hasn't arrived yet. I was asking him if the compressor might be shot and he sent me here Learned alot but haven't had time to check any circuits yet.

Mine isn't humming, so maybe my compressor is okay ? Scott, the one I got from you ran out of gas again not long after I got it back, wrote you but never heard back after failing to send it three or four times (my bad) , sooo, I sent it to the Witchdoctor who is an HVAC kind of guy to refill it. It was the shrader leaking again, so he refilled it using what you had told me in PMs before, namely that you used R410a and filled to about 125lb. Ran like a bat out of hell then went warm on me again a few weeks later. Sending it back and forth around the country was getting too expensive though so on Splave's recommendation I contacted Ron and it's supposed to be here this Friday

My thought is to check with my AirGas guy to see if he knows an HVAC that wanted some side work and could look at refilling it again.. then I'd have two If I get time I'll run down the wiring and see if it's a capacitor or something.

The one I've got coming is tuned to 300W to be multipurpose lol

If I can get the one from Scott fixed up, I'll be ready to run a dual CPU X79 board when they come out

Scott, lost your number, would like to talk and find out what you think my issue might be - please PM me the number and I'll call

    Great thread, learned a lot!

I tried r410 once and it made the compressor run hot and pressure was too high. I got rid of the r410. These compressor weren't made for it.
